I'm on 30k for the month, which is behind my goal (100 for full month), but a run tomorrow will narrow the gap.

Tracking my weight on Fitbit, I can see that I've lost 4 kilo from my heaviest. I'm aiming for another 6, so happy with progress, but some way to go. 10 kilo is roughly how much weight I gained over 8 months of not exercising & not eating healthily.

Well done Sprouty.

My name is Rubix Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the true emperor, Kelvin Kiptum. Father to a murdered marathon time. Husband to a murdered world record. And I will have my vengeance, in this run or the next.

Last minute entry into a Half Marathon yesterday whilst Marathon training is in my legs and smashed another PB! 1 hour 37 minutes and 37 seconds!

Also signed up as a pacer in 2 weeks time at another Half.

Nice one. Pacers at parkrun wear vests with numbers on, but the ones at half marathons carry flags - Is this going to be you?

Tapped out at 76km this month. I've changed my route to a 12k run, so I could have bumped up to my 100km goal, but I'm happy to have topped the 74 from February. My legs have just felt like they need a rest. I just need to ensure that a five day break doesn't break the habit.

I'm upto 5K and a little beyond 5k now on my return to running following surgery last year.
I'm working towards 10K now and started a little speedwork today (only 4 10 seconds sprints but I will build up from there)

A hearty well done on the 3.51 marathon finish Rubix.

I also just wanted to remind you of your earlier sandbagging... ;)

PS - Well done on starting the running again poshrule_uk.

I ran Fallout just over a week ago. It's a plan your own route ultramarathon with the aim being to get 40 miles away from the start (measured as the crow flies). Everyone has a tracker and after a 30 minute headstart you are chased by a relentlessly expanding radiation cloud that vaporises you if it catches you.

I ran it last year and just scraped through in 11h 42m (12hr cutoff).

This year I did slightly more training but still not very much. For the first time in an ultra, my legs actually felt good the entire race. Some hail and rain at the start meant my feet got wet and I picked up a few blisters so my feet were a bit sore but it felt like small problem and didn't slow me down too much.

So halfway through the race I was already an hour ahead of last year's effort. Then I got the usual lack of energy slowdown around 30 miles. Refueled at McDonald's and felt ready to pick up the pace for final 15-20 miles. Put in some good mile times (for me) and was finishing strong.. Until the last five miles when an essential pedestrian footbridge over the A3 was closed with no obvious alternative. I lost 20 minutes backtracking and finding another way across and then kinda gave up on the whole 'strong finish' idea.

Popped into Tesco to stock up on after race sweets and then strolled across the 40 mile point in 10hr 28m (47.5 actual miles).

Was very happy with how I did considering (once again!) I didn't train enough. Over an hour up on last year and felt good the whole way,

I made some changes from last year's route and not all were good. I skipped Reading town centre and went along the river. It's longer but less busy, except that's when I was hit by an unexpected hail storm and got soaked. Later on I replaced the hilly trails of the Devil's Highway with a flatter road route of similar lengths, but the road crossings made it hard to keep momentum and my legs were feeling strong so I should have just taken the trails.
The closed bridge at the end was the most annoying but I couldn't have known.

Great event. I'm already signed up for next year and will train properly this time and finally get under 10hr for 50 miles.

That sounds awesome, satriales! Well done to you. I think that your story sums up why running can be so beneficial to your mental health, not only the physical element, but the mental endurance required.

I'm hoping to get out today for my new, regular 12k run early this afternoon. I'm curious to see how a few extra days of rest will have helped with my pace. My legs certainly feel fresher!

Thanks  TBF it was my first marathon so hard to identify a time. Even with my time I had lots of energy left, I recon I could have done 3:40

Signed up for the Swansea Half in June, not done a proper half event before, but have done the distance once before. First run of a 'plan' this morning so of course it rained the entire time

Hoping to stick to the plan (from their website - not my own) as much as I can, 4 runs a week on average, 3 short and one long. Now the clocks have changed it should make it easier!

Went on a trail run today, ran through some deep puddles to wash off the mud and couldn't see one had a massive pothole, completely rolled my ankle and now i'm hobbling around the house, suppose to be pacing next Sunday.
