I worry that the overworld is going to contain a big pile of nothing. I hope they have little things to discover on the way.

After playing Far Cry 4, this new Zelda looks empty and dated. Even the way the trees were placed, they all looked the same and as if just copied and pasted over a fairly flat terrain. They really need to inject some life into the world or drastically reduce the size. Don't want to spend 5 minutes travelling just for the sake of it being a big open world.

That aside, the view at the top of the mountain was great, is this going to be 1080/60?

Little things would be the minimum to expect.

The game isn't out until late next year, they could be waiting until they're done with the dungeons to add the rest of the details into the overworld.

My assumption from that footage was that was just an empty demo to show off certain aspects of the game, so things were either removed or hadn't been added at that stage yet as all they wanted to show off was the scenery and the mechanics of the game.

However I do agree about some of the details although this is the wii u we are talking about and not the ps4 or xb1.

I've never been bothered by zelda games though as I just don't have the time to play them. Too involved for me sadly. Always look lovely though.

GameXplain have tried to enhance the footage-

Couple of things I spotted-
At 3:37 there is an animal standing on the tall rock which reminds me of the forest spirit in Princess Mononoke

The wild horses give me RDR vibes and I wonder if its possible to mount any horse? Also, the animation of the horses.

Right near the end (4:07) there is clearly someone/thing standing by the tree on the left.

Oh and needless to say, dat grass. :datass:

2015 would appear to be when I buy a Wii U then.

In the presentation, Reggie said the game is "well into development". So a release 12 months from now is looking almost certain.

I think the release of Captain Toad will be the start of a new trend for gaming...

Star Fox Wii U- 30th Dec 2015

I think this is the perfect opportunity to release the Gamecube back catalogue in HD on the Wii U, then bring out a new home console in 2018.

For the remainder of the generation the U is clearly incapable of competing against it's two rivals, but it stood it's ground and stayed afloat inspite of everything with the ongoing trickle of first party exclusives. It served a good few years there's no shame in pulling the plug after this period.
But I guess it could still survive and stay afloat for a further three year by HD updating the GC and Wii catalogue and by continuing the exclusives like they've been doing so far

Wonder if this will have a day/night cycle where certain things only happen at certain times of day
