Wait, what? Really? I had no idea you could do that

I loved it, thought it was a suitably epic finale!

Fully agree, thought it was a perfect ending to the game.

One thing about it I’m not sure of though, does the last boss health bar change depending how many hearts/stamina upgrades the player has? Was a little shocked when it nearly went off the right hand side of the screen

I burst out laughing and said oh gooseberry fool as it kept going

Nice moment though the finale was still pretty easy. I was completed overpowered for it really, full hearts and loads of weapons in the 90s. Plus a load of full recovery with bonus heart meals in my back pocket. I'd have done well to lose really

Dipped back into this a little bit. Slowly but surely making progress. 12 side quests left to find, 7 caves left to find, 10 trillion korok seeds and bosses left to find. Anyone know if there's any way to find the remaining quests? Feel like I've been everywhere and spoken to everyone in the game multiple times.

Look at a list and see what you're missing....

Noway of revealing them on the map or anything if that's what you mean.

Main thing I was lacking was gloom removing food, as I couldn’t remember how to make any  I did set the travel medallion down as close as I dared so I could have fast travelled and made some, but managed it, just….

Somehow managed to finally stumble upon all the caves. Although there is one cave I can't seem to get access to, which I would imagine is related to a side-quest, of which there seems to be no way of knowing where it could be.

So that's fun.

Outside chance but is it that one at water level in the side of the cliff in the southeast?

To get proper access you have to start the side-quest with the two guys and the dog sniffing treasure tucked behind the stable by death mountain. And it leads to some of the best side quest stuff in the game (including that cave).

Or you might have done that one already I guess

Yes it is. The two guys one dog rings a bell for Misko's Treasure. I've found a few Misko's Treasure side-quests, but not one related to that cave.

I think I'm gonna call it here:

185 hours
86.19% complete
7 side quests left to find
656 korok seeds (many more found just unobtained)
Several, several mini-bosses left to kill
I think at least one clothing item left to find
5 Old Maps left to find
8 Yiga Schematics left to find (though easy to identify on the map)
3 Sage's Wills left to find
Probably forgetting other things cause there's just so much to do!

It's been fun, but there's only so many times I can comb the map. Disappointing but think it's time to look up guides for the remaining stuff. Feel like I just barely found all the caves thanks to targeting bubbulfrogs. No such tracker for anything else. Patricia in Gerudo Town tells you the co-ordinates for missing side-quests, but only ones pertaining to gerudos. Missed opportunity imo. In general totk could have done with some completionist system; perhaps splitting the map into quadrants that are checked one completed. Still a lot to search and comb but at least it would be within reasonable chunks. Or would defeat the point of the openness?

I've just checked my quest log. I think you have to take to this two guys outside again, because they tip you off with three hints, one of which opens that cave.

What's really awesome is the solution is right there all along and easy once you know how...

If you don't want to chat them again I'll give you the riddle:

The short, shrill song of wind through lips will open the way to my treasure.

But yeah they've two others too, so might be three of the seven you need?!

One year old today!

Tears of the Kingdom is now 1 year old, can’t believe how quick that time has gone, one of the most pure fun games I have ever experienced. Been looking back at launch day in this topic and reading everyone’s reactions and experiences  Page 68 if you feel like reminiscing

In another time this would've been a 1,000+ page thread.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Wow, yeah, that year just flew past, Milner :o . I have kinda got out of Switch gaming this past year or two; I'd probably start with tackling Breath of the Wild when I get back to it.

I can't believe it's only been a year. I think that's down to the fact that I dropped TOTK relatively quickly and it seemed to fall from public discourse quite soon too, and of course no DLC.

I don't think anything truly shocking, cool and inventive came out of all the building jiggery pockery either, particularly when compared to how long people had fun with the physics in BOTW.

The exploration is also just fundamentally nowhere near as fun second time round and the new areas offer next to zero incentive to keep looking around corners. This makes the quest for 100% way more of a slog so people don't keep at the game and share stories of their adventures so it just falls out of discourse. I don't think Nintendo helped matters by really undercutting their world in having the games tied together by such paper thin threads that it makes it feel too throw away and gamey and not like you want to go and visit all your old friends.

I really struggle to go back to TOTK now as I have such a love/disappointment relationship with it. Maybe if they brought out something like Creating a Champion.

Time for adventure

A year, crazy!

Just an incredible achievement. Built on, enhanced and improved just about every aspect of BotW which feels like a beta test by comparison now.

It's masterpiece, easily the best Zelda experience since Majora
