I hope they change everything massively so that all the game splits strawberry float off and just let people enjoy TV without constant comparisons.

To be honest, I imagine there are plenty of fans of the games that would like them to change things when they adapt TLOU2

Well Neil D did confirm that S2 will cover Part 2...

The rage on social media on that episode... can't wait. :slol:

It seems implied that S2 and S3 will cover the second game.

Yeah, they'll always be a small portion of gamers who develop almost fetishistic obsessions with certain games and get genuinely hurt that their 'babies' aren't being 100% accurately portrayed. You can kind of picture them swaying back and forth in front of the TV struggling to process an actor or scene not being a carbon copy.

Most gamers though I think are pretty open-minded about the narrative changes that have to be made with game/TV adaptations.

Imagine the wailing if they ever made a Half Life show.

Game splits :x

Loved episode 3. I think it's the first thing I've watched where a male male gay relationship has been portrayed realistically. I have a couple of gay friends back where i used to live who were older, and the relationship was very much like theirs (apart from the apocalypse, but then this was somerset so not far off).

The first episode was very competent but not hugely interesting as a fan because it adapted the game so closely. The second episode had some neat divergence. Third episode was brilliant.

Just watched the first episode. I can’t believe they killed his daughter. I was expecting him to get separated and then spend the next 20 years trying to find her

It’s funny because I’ve never played the games but you can clearly tell which scenes are remakes of cut screens from the game.

I do hope the series is brave enough to divert from the game source material as I can imagine it would be quite hampered by it.

Sort of similar, I've played the games but long after release. I went in not knowing much about the game other there was a poignant relationship with the male and the young girl, and said young was a really strong interesting character that fans love. When the game started I assumed this discourse was around Sarah (not Ellie who obviously didn't appear until a little later in the game) - so was watching Sarah quite closely, excited to go on this journey with her that I would grow to really like-so it was shocking when she was killed in such an unfair and violent way early on

Still only seen the first episode - which I thought was brilliant so very reassuring to sounds like it gets even better :toot:

Watched the first episode today; absolutely stellar stuff. This and Arcane are easily the best video gaglme adaptations that I've ever seen, not sure what other quality ones are out there?

Why is the world like this, I don't get it.

Do I just have rose tinted goggles on because I'm sure there never used to be such furore over gay characters in things.
