He was fortunate a more critical eye wasn't cast on that clever attacking play. I certainly wouldn't have risked it if I was on a booking!

Although if we're taking about the worst decision in that penalty area this evening then please see below:

The yellow card Havertz did get was never a yellow card offence and shouldn’t of been given it so I can’t say I feel all that bad about him not getting a second yellow

I think this weekend could be the day the title is decided for Liverpool. Equally if City go onto win, it'll be the next fixture for Arsenal. If both Liverpool and Arsenal win over the next two games Vs City, that's the best possible outcome for the league staying open until the end of the season.

De Bruyne having an argument with Pep and storming down the tunnel.

High quality game and I'll take the result! Liverpool looked the better side and unfortunate not to win that at the death, looked a penalty by Doku.

Mean he was looking at the ball and was down to a clumsy attempted clearance. If you give things like that then players are just going to run into those challenges purely to get a foul rather than an attempt to play the ball.

Certainly not one of those apparent "clear and obvious" decisions that VAR are meant to look at. And I think what sided with Doku was the clear attempt to play the ball rather than kick the oncoming player.

Making an attempt to play the ball is complerely irrelevant if you do so in a dangerous manner, and it's hard to see how you could argue against that given how high Doku's foot was.

Mac Allister actually plays the ball first too. It comes off his chest and bounces off Doku's foot as he is the process of studding Mac Allister in the chest.

If a player is using his chest to play the ball, you shouldn't be in a position where you're challenging for it with your foot.

Looking at it again, that MacAllister seems to make an attempt to avoid Doku's boot also probably swings in into not "clear and obvious" territory.

Been far worse VAR related decisions this season. This certainly would benefit from some form of actual verbal confirmation of the discussion/final decision. Seen a claim that the decision essentially was an "unavoidable coming together".

Suppose gotta give City one last title chance before the charges disappear though.

It's all because Doku hesitated, so instead of attacking the ball himself he let it bounce and allowed Mac Allister to panic him into throwing a boot up. No different to letting a player get goal side and bringing them down clumsily - it's a pen.

100% a pen. I know I'm biased and all, but come on.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

It's so odd how many people in the comments sections or on twitter seem to think it matters if Doku got the ball first or not. Analysing frame by frame. If a tackle, challenge or attempt is deemed dangerous then it doesn't matter if they get the ball. How does this myth still exist. It's even furthered by pundits who are ex footballers making the same comments, it's okay because there was a little bit of contact with the ball before he stamped a whole in his chest
