Roy Keanes take on Veron is an interesting one. He was a bit of a scapegoat for that teams lack of success. Other players were poorer but without the record fee. He was much better in the second season when we won the league. 2003.

To quote Fergie:
Sir Alex wrote:He [Veron] is a strawberry floating great player. And you're all strawberry floating idiots.

Saved yourself there. You were just about to go on ignore.

Sir Denster wrote:It [Obi-Wan] is a strawberry floating great show. And you're all strawberry floating pedants.

Don't make do it. It was bad enough quoting Jenuall.

Yeah, I hate when I have to quote that idiot

I'm stunned that a Portsmouth fan didn't take the opportunity to mention Ali Dia.

What's everyone's worst signing for their club then? Got to be Bosko Balaban for me as a Villa fan, absolute waste of money!

This is surely the winner. Or about a dozen others to choose from that were transferred there.

I think cost to outcome ratio needs to be considered.

The Athletic did an article a while back where transfer fees were adjusted for inflation. Based on that I'd say Everton's would be Ibrahima Bakayoko - I'd be surprised if many non Everton fans remember him.

Bought in 1998 for £4.5m which today would be £42m he played 23 times and scored 4 goals (he was a striker - shortly after signing him we sold Duncan Ferguson.)

Looking at some of the others
Veron £155m
Torres (to Chelsea) £112m
Shevchenko £111m
Di Maria £94m
Robinho £88m
Wright Phillips (to Chelsea) £82m
Carroll £78m
Kepa £75m
Anderson £70m
Kevin Davies (Blackburn) £70m
Adebayor (City) £66m
Morata £64m
Diouf £45m

For Brighton it's Jurgen Locadia. £15m for six goals over the course of four years, albeit some of that period was spent out on loan.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Kevin Davies is easily our worst signing, I'd say. For Celtic, tough question. In recent years it's got to be Barkas. A goalkeeper who'd rather play left-back - howling levels of embarrassment.

Blackburn's greatest ever signing is an easy one though.

Signing a young RB from Scotland and then our business is done according to Joyce. All before the window even opens

Nicolas Pepe has to be up there too. Imagine the players Arsenal could have bought instead with that cash.

My mind's voice is physically incapable of saying "Bosko Balaban" in anything other than Jim White's accent.

He's undoubtedly a poor signing with a massively overinflated price tag (he's our record signing by about twenty million quid ). He has got 26 goals and 13 assists in 125 apps for some of the worst Arsenal sides for a generation, which isn't truly abysmal if you ignore the inflated price tag.

Willian on the other hand can strawberry float right off. 36 appearances, one goal and five assists, most of which came on the first day of the season against Fulham.
