If United sign a strong defensive midfielder to replace Fred, they're looking very good

I have watched >20 Dortmund matches this season. He is easily worth the money, but as with any signing, he needs to be utilised in a way that enables him to use his strengths. Not like how Utd have deployed Pogba. Every time we see Pogba play for France he's strawberry floating dynamite and looks well worth the money Utd paid for him.

Pogba plays like dynamite for France because he has the best water-carrier in the world next to him in Kante. United have got Fred :fp:

Seems a bit mean spirited mate, a young man in the early throes of his career, wishing doom on it. And he could kick some serious ass for England if Southgate wakes up.

Sancho is a good player.

But will he be used properly? Or will he gel with the team’s playing style?

Have a look at Pogba. He was excellent in the France games and he looks like he’s enjoying it. A huge difference from his games at Man Utd.

I've nothing against him personally, just think it would be amusing after Man U trying so hard to get him for so long and this whole saga.

What?

TAA, Konate, Van Dijk and Robertson are easily the best back four.

Firstly, I said could, not definitely will be.

Secondly, Konate is unproven in the PL, so it's seems premature to draw that conclusion.

Think they'd still need to buy a new keeper.

Players entering the final year of their contract:

Pedri and Fati's market value inflated purely because they play for Barca.

It would be very funny if Mbappe left on a free transfer next year.

Pogba has been good for united last season. Despite not having the best defensive midfielder behind him as he does for france. Sancho is a great buy. Should slot in perfectly. Varane and a defensive CB and we're in business.

Neither is Varane... but both well regarded French CB's.

No way is it easily the best. I'd argue City have the best, especially based on last season.

England star Declan Rice has put Manchester United and Chelsea on alert after it emerged he has turned down two new contract offers from West Ham United.

And Rice is expected to reject any more imminent attempts to extend his West Ham deal, as he waits to see whether United or Chelsea firm up their interest in him with a bid.

United are big admirers of Rice, who gets on well with his England team-mate Harry Maguire, and could try to tempt West Ham by including Jesse Lingard as part of a bid.

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is understood to be a fan of the player the club released as a 14-year-old and Manchester City have also shown an interest in Rice. But, having re-signed Fernandinho on a one-year contract, the Premier League champions would be more likely to make a bid next summer.

West Ham value Rice at around £100million, but the midfielder would want to be informed of any offers the club receive for him and would most likely be disappointed if bids in the region of £60m were turned down given he did not cost the Hammers anything.

I get your point but Varane is an established world class CB. No slight on Konate but the same can't be said (yet).
