Champs League football and London based. United were going to have to pay seriously over the odds to get him over Chelsea. Given Chelsea are no doubt paying him a fortune just wouldn't be viable for United.

Costa and Fabregas, Chelsea aren't messing about :shock:

What's the difference between him and Mata to be honest?

Arsene must have something in mind if he rejected the chance to re-sign Cesc.

True, but it couldn't hurt to have someone like Fabregas back in the team.

Van Gaal, the big wages and the United brand are undoubtedly big draws, but I also think that by courting players like Kroos and Muller, they're aiming too high. Any player plying their trade for Bayern, Barca or Real on a regular basis won't come.

So Chelsea are going to have Costa and Fabregas in and Luiz out at a net spend of £15m ish.

Not even trolling you know? Just being real. Obviously they are still a massive club but these players are at the top of their game and want to be in the champions league. They'll need to pluck players from lesser clubs to rebuild their team.

I disagree. No doubt it's a disadvantage but United are still a big draw.

Bit surprised at the timing of the Fabregas announcement, didn't think any big deals would be announced until after the World Cup.

Fair play to Chelsea, they are going to have a pretty awesome team next season. Team to beat at the moment in my opinion.
