Nah but they still have a great squad dont they, very simialr to what happened to us, MON left we went down the shitter. The same might happen here

did villa have a good squad, modric had a mediocre season as well, one player wont be the end of it all plus it was inevitable he was going to leave, as long as its not to an english team i don't mind.

Yeah

Freidal
Milner
Petrov
Barry
Young
Downing
Carew
Dunne
Collins
Warnock

We had one of the best back lines in the country for about 3 seasons

When we were top 6ish we were challenging right up to around march which is when they used to run out of steam due to MON being a tactical muppet.

Did those two actually play together at Villa?

Nope, so I kind of should removed one of them, but I just listed all the good players that we had during MONS reign. I loved Milner the most  He is wasted at City

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

thats not a squad though thats 10 players, Yes good players but not a whole squad, i think that was the problem with villa was that the first 11 was good but the back up was not always good enough.

Spurs will be alright. Modric didn't have a great season, and the team is stronger than just that one player. Modric to RM is the best we could hope for.

New manager, fresh start. I do think us Spurs fans will need to revaluate our expectations. Top 6 next season, then build from there. I just hope whoever is brought in is given time to put his stamp on the team. The stronger teams that havent been put together with the money cheat (Man Utd/Arsenal) have all given their manager time, and that is what Spurs need to do.

Yes mate, that was our problem, like I said we ran out of steam epically around march, we were clear 3rd in feb at one point, then we won something like 3 out of our next 11 odd games :|

All the top Premier League teams have spent vast amount's of money, but there's a difference between that, and the money cheat teams.

That's not criticising those 2 teams btw. The fans have little say in who owns and then subsequently runs their club, and if some rich arab bought Spurs and started handing out 250k per week salaries then I wouldn't be complaining.

Let what go?

I'm pointing out the fact that these hollow promises don't mean gooseberry fool, that's all. I haven't even mentioned anything about the content of Dblock's posts. :?

very true, i always felt that was the prob as well with villa, the main players were pretty damn good but when you lose one or two if there are no good back ups then you have problems.

if modric goes spurs still have sandro, parker, huddlestone, jenas and livermore has improved although i am guessing if modric is sold spurs will buy a replacement. I actually liked Rakitic for croatia, he seemed a decent midfielder.

Thing is, if MON had rotated properly we wouldnt have had the problem, the games we won at a canter..take them off, he either dropped the whole team (for the cups) or didnt change anything, same sunbs at 75 minutes too, sidwell and heskey on for petrov and carew :fp:

The more I think about it the angrier I get, and how much I hate the bloke now, and before sandy destroys my fun, we were on the verge of what your lot achieved, instead we nearly ended up in financial oblivion :(

I actually think if modric leaves then I actually think that will be beneficial to vdv. Without modric vdv seems to play with a lot more freedom. However vdv is very injury prone and will probably leave this summer too :fp:
