Watching the copa libertadores semi final, 19 minutes gone 0-0 but this is one of the most entertaining openings to a match I've seen in ages.

How much would you value him at?

Double that, he cost us 3.2 mil! I trust Mowbray to spend money wisely, but 3 simply isn't enough. Over 5 then maybe, but given some of the transfer fees Being banded about (7 mil for Rodriguez going to Southampton being an example) there's no way I could see us taking 3.
What do you reckon?

I agree we can get more than 3 certainly but I have never really rated him. I know he had a decent season but this is the only season since he joined us that he's done anything. When you think Bolton offered 6 mill for Williams - I know they are completely different types of players - but Emnes definitely isn't worth as much.

6m might be overly ambitious, maybe 5 is more realistic, but I want/expect the club to tell them where to go unless they table a good offer. He's come good after a decent run in the side and some faith from Mowbray and I'm confident he can repeat his performance this season. I do rate Williams highly, and Bolton may have bid 6mil, but we didn't accept for a reason, it's just not worth getting rid of one of our best players for that much. Given where we are at the moment we're not looking to sell, and as such we should value players like emnes and Williams highly, it's one thing having money and another having a player that's actually performing. I think both players are key members of the team, and would be sad to see them leave for less than they're worth. I feel that 3m is taking the piss, and we'd be hard pressed to bring in a striker for 3m that would score us 18 goals next season.

I hope we drop the interest in Emnes to be honest. He did great for us in that loan spell, and I would have loved to get him last summer instead of Lita, but things have moved on. We had Sigurdsson lined up for £6.8m and Emnes isn't even close to that. I'd be a bit miffed at spending £3m (our current record transfer is only £3.5m for Danny Graham who'd scored over 40 goals in 2 Championship seasons), anything more than that and I'd be seriously annoyed.
