Another season of mediocrity awaits us, I fear. There's no excitement in the fixture list anymore, apart from making a note to avoid getting beaten to a pulp when Millwall come to the Riverside. We don't even have the glamour tie of a Tyne-Tees derby this season, though it'll be nice to play Leeds again.
I know there's a World Cup on (apparently), but I'm a bit concerned that the "massive" rebuilding of the squad has so far been a bit lop-sided. We've let a few players go, but not got any in. David Wheater is our most experienced centre back!
Anyway, we should get some predictions going, though this topic probably won't take flight until England are crowned world champions on July 11th.*
*I'm put this on the front page so you can all look back in a year and think: "Cor, he was on to something that fellow... it's such a shame he got caught in that earthquake".

Good on ye, Spinny.
Arsenal away to Liverpool first. Tough start, but at least it's not one of the big 4

Liverpool face Arsenal & City in their first two games. Easy start for the new boss then

I thought they all came out at the same time?
We only have the one match against Chesterfield showing up so far, though I would happily take that as our season right now.

We've got a tough run in for the end of the season, although I can see us clinching the title at home to Blackpool on the last day

Nice (and I don't mean easy) opening and closing games.

Portsmouth at home first game.
Easy 3 points.

First home game of the season is against Yeovil, hopefully Rovers will have signed some players by then. Else Mr Pollard will be laughing rather hard at us

When the fixtures come out, the first games I look for are first, last and Boxing Day. And we're away for all three.

I see Chelsea have got their usual opening match against one of the promoted teams

First day of the season: Yeovil v Russell Slade's Leyton Orient.
strawberry float OFF SLADE.
I don't invest too much interest in the fixture list at this point though, because over the next couple of week's you'll see games being switched left right and centre because of the plod.
Meanwhile, in the Championship, Leeds mark their return to that division with a home game against Derby. Winnable, and home. Nicely done.

I expect Spurs to finish 4th or 5th next season.

Hopefully, here's to a season that doesn't make Liverpool fans feel ill quite so much.
Yeah, it's not likely is it?

Very interested to see who Liverpool get in now, as we'll be the first to play them post-Benitez.
Arsenal vs Chelsea on Boxing Day should be good...

I expect Arsenal to finish in the top four. And reach one of the cup finals. Hopes for a good, long european run again.
I expect Arsenal AND Fabergas to tell Barcelona to get lost. Unless Barcelona offers Messi in a straight swop but other than that: strawberry float Off Barcelona. FOB.
And Celtic? I expect no less than winning the league. Must Win. Would be more happy if an experienced manager takes the reins but hopefully Lennon does a decent job and not do a "John Barnes."

I must of missed that skimming through. Should be a great game at that time of the year.

Man City on the first day! Should be a cracker of a way to open the season after our epic battle for 4th last time.
