Why do they have to be such strawberry floating dicks over a simple question that people are bound to ask?

They've probably got a announcement planned of some kind with Miyamoto to reveal the new VA as part of the Wonder marketing.

Then they should have STFU about Martinet until then.

Bet Chris Pratt will do the voice from now on, thanks Jen

To be fair, as it isn't Martinet in Wonder, he'd already been cancelled before Jenuall started moaning

He was going to be in it until Jen started his hate campaign.

I can understand doing it separately. Make the first announcement about Martinet so the moment is his to say goodby3 and the second announcement about the new VA. They'll probably do it in their usual September Direct this month so it won't be long to wait.

Then say “we’ll have news for you soon”. Not “wait until it’s released”!

What? Martinet has retired?

That's like huge gaming news. Isn't he one of the longest serving voice actors in videogame history? Surely that deserves it's own thread?

I know it was kind of only sounds and basic words, but that guy basically voiced video gaming's version of Mickey Mouse, or the Flintstones. It's like Dan Castellaneta retiring from voicing Homer Simpson!

Absolutely iconic. I don't think any other sound effect in gaming is iconic as when you first jumped in Mario 64.

I blame Chris Pratt. Microsoft should sign Martinet to voice Paarthurnax or his descendants for all eternity!

Seriously though, Martinet is iconic.

Hoping it's going to be Kiefer Sutherland.

Even Sky News are reporting on this news, can’t wait for Chris Pratt to be revealed as the future voice of Mario games going forward at the September Direct!

The average Mario game probably already has more lines of dialogue than what Kiefer gave us in MGSV

Imagine Martinet flipping back the NVGs and saying "Kepta you waiting woo-hoo"

Day 1.

15 minutes is quite a long time, they wouldn't give a game (that isn't Smash Bros lol) in a General Direct that long really.

I can still see us getting a Sept Direct in addition to this.

This will likely be where they have the special video goodbye to Martinet with Miyamoto as well.

I'm still hoping we get a September direct, even if just to shadow drop MP Echoes

This is good though, in a general direct no game should have 15 mins spent on it, not even Smash

Sorry, Twitter (and most things) blocked for me - what time and date is this Direct that i'm guessing has been mentioned?
