Gameplay looked shocking, something like Crackdown or Sunset Overdrive. Can’t stand how relentlessly try hard it is to be just so hilarious.

Doesnt really look like the kind of game I'd want to play more than a couple of times from that.

So this is now, what, 9 years since they released Arkham Knight?

Shame, but this and Gotham Knights in the same year might have been a bit much anyway.

Gotham Knights is to Suicide Squad what Arkham Origins was to Arkham Knight, a nice, slightly less important WB Montreal title to tie us over while we wait for the big Rock Steady game. I'm more hyped for Gotham Knight anyway.

I enjoyed seeing a few examples of the gameplay action in the PlayStation State of Play last night. It is a bit crazy and I wonder if it may be a little too manic for my tastes... but it looks so cool, too.

I'm not too worried about the Battle Pass as it is optional and is focussed exclusively on cosmetic items; which would be right up my street!

This looked so bland, just another co-op shooter, the characters really didn’t look like they had any unique traits and the ‘attack the weak points’ mission wasn’t very exciting.

Considering what they have made before with the Arkham games this is really disappointing, DC Games version of Marvels Avengers. I assume WB pressured them into making a co-op game like this rather than another single player focused game.

They wasted eight years of one of the finest single player action game studios' time to produce this looter shooter co op games as a service piece of gooseberry fool.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yep :fp:

Genuinely gutted about how they've spent their time. The Arkham games are so good.

I know we'll have to wait and see exactly how this works but, from what we know so far, I don't reckon the GaaS aspects seem too bad. The battle pass is optional and contains only cosmetic items. The "always online" bit is odd, though; if you choose to play the single-player mode than I don't know why you have to be online. I wonder how good the AI will be for your three CPU-controlled team mates; this part could be critical.

Gameplay-wise it looks hectic but I'm hopeful it'll be good; Rocksteady's Arkham series was well-regarded pretty much across the board.

Imagine how good a "return to Arkham Asylum" game could have been. Expanded map, but not too big so no open world fatigue. Add in some decent detective based puzzles.

Did they really spend 8 years making this or did another project get cancelled along the way?

Having watched the gameplay trailer again, the traversal options do look fun (if a bit ridiculous at times) but the gunplay looks very generic and bland.
