It's looking increasingly remote! I think for several legitimate reasons more than an inherent imbalance.

- The early game saw a mass cull of regular members of parliament without losing any roles, which massively reduced the pool of regular members in which the conformists can hide.

- The conformists killed the Foreign Agent who had also failed to take out any roles (and only made the one kill).

- The seer has played an unbelievable blinder with a currently 50% hit rate on seerings!

- A combination of laws has been passed supporting a town seer circle, most significantly in allowing PMs.

- The declared roles are still alive and there is little doubt in thread over their claims.

The imbalance against the conformists in the setup was the high number of roles, which I think has been exacerbated by the way the game has played out, and allowing PMs just being very useful for the town - in retrospect maybe I could have tied a better penalty to it even if it was contrived. The two biggest wins for the conformists have been the Shadow MoJ and the Military Vet, but that hasn't been enough to rebalance the scales.

I think they gambled on finding the seer and that hasn't paid off, leaving them in a worse position than if they'd just taken out declared roles instead.

We prioritised killing Drumstick night 2 to delay the laws (crucially the PMs), but in hindsight we may have been better off killing Kinopio after he role claimed (knowing that the SSA about to pass would verify him), and then Mommy on night 3 when he revealed himself as the vote rigger. This may have made it more difficult for the Seer to get their results out in a trusted way, although I think that with the number of special roles in the game, after the SSA passed it was inevitable that we would end up with trusted players in thread by some method or another. By night 4 it felt almost pointless killing Mommy because it felt like there were enough other role claims in thread without any counter-claims that there were too many options for the seer to PM. Then as you say the fact that so many MPs got hit early doors meant the shortlist of candidates for Conformists was much reduced.

As an aside, I thought that Kinopio's strop on Day 2 moaning about his role not being special enough was a dick move and straight up disrespectful given the time it must take to put together and run these games. We did jokingly discuss killing him on this basis but we'd already pretty much agreed that Drumstick needed to go to slow down the laws passing.

Trying to match the MP claim PM to the player is surprisingly fun haha

It's all part of the game

Anyway, we need to lynch someone tonight.

Clarkman (1) - Mommy

Is Mommy ok? I swear he's forgotten the rules of the game every day since it started

Is the game this Seer has played the single best game anyone's ever had? Four villains successfully targeted and killed on successive nights, and all orchestrated without theatrics or complication despite the public faces of your operation being Mommy as trusted contact and CK as speaker.

Very interested to hear the seers views on how they went about things - have they done some amazing work to identify potential targets each night and got it right through skill, or have they just been extremely lucky?

Either way it's an incredible hit rate!

Out of interest, did anyone else do a 'lock in' whilst the game was on, and should it be a rule, or has it been a rule in previous games?

I posted only in the game topic for the entirety. I'm not as big a poster as I was back in the day, but for me, it brings more focus on the game. It could push up activity within the thread, though also could be a bit frustrating during quiet periods of the game and not to everyones taste.

It would have been interesting to see how quickly a law would be voted on allowing people to vote elsewhere in the forum!

Just think of all the awesome content that people would have been missed out on if we were all confined to just the game thread!

...

Yeah maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea!

There was a series of "Big Brother" forum games on ONM which I never took part in but where everyone playing could only post in the thread, had tasks set, and everyone else would vote people out until there was a winner.

It's an interesting idea but the rest of the board would really suffer while the game is on.

Haha, that is amazing!

Big Brother is probably my last forum game back as far as I can recall, which is probably why I just assumed I wasn't allowed to post elsewhere for the first day of this one. After that point I just decided to stay put and embrace it.

What happens if Clarkman is elected minister and gets lynched?
