I really want Nintendo to take a break from Mario but I can't see it. Its too much of a sure thing at retail. If we see Mario then a new Paper Mario RPG that is a proper sequel to 'The Thousand Year Door' would be awesome but I think Super Mario Galaxy 3 is more probable. Think Zelda and Metroid are both inevitable at E3, the former maybe just in trailer form. I can't see Retro Studios project being anything other than a new Metroid either, which is a shame because of all Nintendo's developers I think they should be the most able to produce something totally new. I'd love to see them produce something like 'The Last of Us' or even a reimagining of Eternal Darkness.

Nintendo just seem intent on sticking to their safe bets these days, which is a shame because I think they were at their best with Gamecube where they took a few risks (Eternal Darkness, Geist, Chibi Robo etc.)

I would dearly love Nintendo to give us a new Wave Race, 1080, F-Zero or Starfox but all those franchises seem dead in the water as far as they're concerned. At best we'll get Star Fox if those old rumours of a Starfox/Metroid cross-over come to fruition but that would be a poor fit I think.

If we're going to get any of those franchises back I think the best we can hope for are HD re-releases. Re-releasing 1080 Avalanche, Wave Race Blue Storm and F-Zero GX with HD facelifts and online multiplayer would take minimum effort but they'd look great and still play really well and it would be a really cost-effective way to reintroduce those franchises to a newer generation. Shame we didn't get a great Starfox game on Gamecube that can get the same treatment.

If Nintendo could deliver a new IP that isn't super cartoony or strange as strawberry float... that'd be nice. Don't get me wrong, silly and cartoony and whatnot are fine, great even, but, well, they have Metroid, and the realistic Zelda games, and Wave Race... I dunno, I'd just appreciate it if, in the absence of a lot of third party input, they'd expand their own IP roster to compensate and fill the genre gaps.

If Nintendo were to do HD remasters on Fzero GX and Wave race, they would appease the fanbase wishing for a new game (They need to throw in online in both though)

Have Nintendo ever come out and said they would he interested in releasing more HD remasters?

Following the success of Wind Waker HD I'd be surprised if they don't explore them more.

As for new IP, they have actually released a lot of new IP in the last few years: (off the top of my head)

Pushmo
Dillon's Rolling Western
Steel Diver
Rusty's Real Deal Baseball
NES Remix
Nintendo Land
Wonderful 101

So the argument that they are purely relying on existing franchises is flawed. They are supplementing the reliable "money makers" with smaller, new IP all the time but for some reason this seems to be ignored by a lot of he gaming press.

Wave Race Blue Storm HD 60fps at a nice price, say £19.99 and I'd be in.

You know what I wouldn't mind seeing? A sequel to Starfox adventures! Have different planets to visit and each time you travel to a new planet it's a proper Starfox level (Ratchet and Clank style)

Throw in online dogfights and you are on to a winner IMO, in fact I would quite like Retro to be working on something like this

I would like Platinium to have a go with a Nintendo franchise too (Metroid could be interesting)

I'd love to see Nintendo give Retro the Starfox franchise although I'd prefer them to stick with the N64 formula rather than Adventures.

Nintendo really needs another couple of Retro Studios-grade second party companies. Everything we can think of that could get remade seems to be put on them.

The only way I'd ever accept a new starfox game from an outer Nintendo company is if Kamiya and Platinum did it.

Actually Retro Studios are a First Party Nintendo developer (and have been for over a decade).

I've never been entirely sure of the company's status, thanks for clearing that up. In any case, Nintendo needs to expand its roster of developers.

Man a Star Fox as mental as 101. :o

I think they should invest in a few indie studios, give them a shot at Wave Race, F-Zero etc. Be really interesting to see what Next Level Games do next now they are working exclusively for Nintendo to. Their output alongside Nintendo has been pretty damn good- Mario Strikers, Punch Out, Luigi's Mansion 2.

I think F-Zero is definitely a long shot for the time being.

Zelda is a certainty. They've been talking about it since the Wii U reveal so it's due for some footage and more information.

Metroid is something I'd love to see and is certainly has a good chance at being announced/shown. It's been too long since Other M and it's due a new entry.

While they've said no new hardware I'd love them to announce a 25th Anniversary Game Boy. Digital only, it'd tie into your existing eShop accounts and play SNES, NES, GB/GBC/GBA titles with the possibility of other 2D systems in the future (Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, Lynx, PC-Engine etc). Admittedly that's a dream more than anything else.

Beyond that just any new games for Wii U would be very welcome.

Yes, I think it would have really helped the Wii U's situation if they'd invested some of their Wii cash in acquiring development houses.

I've just thought, I'd love the next zelda game to be called something like:

The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule's End

And be the end story for the series as we've had the origin with skyward.

The style? Semi free roaming and tough like dark souls :datass:
