Several times a week, in the streets I can see from my window, an argument escalates into a scrap. It always involves the same teenagers/twentysomethings who live round here and never venture further than the local pub.

It sounds like a stereotype but I'd put a tenner on these morons all having dropped out of school at 16 and got their girlfriends pregnant.

Some key quotes from tonight:

"I'll have ya, ya f***ing c**t"
"Ya lanky f***ing prick"
And the classic "Come on then!"

One day I'm sure I'll get bopped round the face just for walking down the road :x

I find it funny because it's not a threat to me as long as I stay inside. But if I was walking past a scene like that and had no way of avoiding it I'd be really intimidated.

I'm talking about groups of 5-10 here.

Someone torched a car in my street a few weeks ago, the explosion woke me up at 4am. Odd, because it's usually a nice area.

The amount of scum there is in Coventry is absolutely unbelievable.

Just playing a 5 a side games tonight. You can tell the entire opposition team just came for a fight. Shady fags before the games. Swearing about everything. Giving you a kick just for daring to have the ball near them. Kicking off just for trying to get the ball off them. Calling one of my mates 'Allah' because of his ethnicity. Utter scum. And they will just go on to produce more and more scum.

Same thing on a night out. Why can't these utter morons just go to a bar/pub without acting like total, utter, wanking bellends? Along with these people, and the 'oi oi' culture, it beggars belief that I actually ever bother to leave the house.

And don't get me started on strawberry floating Birmingham. Cesspit of the entire world, with not one redeeming feature about it.

Cool story, bro. Etc. I don't care. I agree with the war idea, send more of the banana splits out to be killed, because they sure as hell don't add anything to, well, anything.

It's not a new thing. Living in cities, no matter even if it isn't the bustling centre, has always been like this. The difference between my girlfriend's flat she rents out - which is not far from Lothian Road (a crime hotspot for decades) in Edinburgh - and mine which is 30 minutes' walk towards Canonmills in a sort of suburban area, is like night and day.

Just aim to get a nice house as soon as you can manage, Gario. Shack up with an ugly millionaire if you have to.

As much as I defend birkenhead, it is full of wanna be scallies and chavs. Lads that'll start on you for anything at all, all over the place, boarded up buildings, more lads to start on you, and not a single copper in sight. Still love it

Hell ;)

It's not that bad around here, no worse than where I grew up in Reading and certainly better than another part of Leeds I've lived in. But it speaks volumes about the breed of people in Bramley when the best shop is Blockbuster, the only lunch place a Greggs and the clothes retailer of choice Tesco.

I should also add that there's one good point about this town: the guy I'm seeing lives right around the corner and he's a pleasant student chap (who unfortunately is off to uni).

I'm sure that mosts towns and cities in Britian have this problem. Depressing, but very likely. For most people the highlight of their week is going out on a Friday or Saturday, and in some cases they can't resist turning into even bigger banana splits when they drink than they usually are, and they have to ruin everyone else's night with aggressive, intimidating and violent behaviour. It's just expected these days, it's not even something that's uncommon or looked down upon anymore.

Me? I do. Bramley is in Leeds, it's not Bromley.
