What a terrible idea making this platform exclusive. I would buy on PC, but I'm sure as hell not buying an Xbone.

Also, you're all smoking crack if you think UC1 is better than UC3. Correct answer is UC2 > TR > UC3 > UC1.

It's not though, is it.

What Microsoft IP can go up against Uncharted or The Last Of Us?

Microsoft just bought admission to the party.

I don't believe TR did anywhere near enough members to be considered to be 'at the party'. And on the lowest selling, worst performing platform as well, it's baffling.

Don't underestimate the power of fanboyism.

On PS4, it's just "not Uncharted". On Xbone ONLY, suddenly it's the great white hope.

It's a risk, but if it's a failure, then they can bring it back to the other platforms easy enough. If it's a success, this will prove to be a savvy as strawberry float move.

Honestly, I was quite looking forward to the new Tomb Raider on PS4 and now thanks to Microsoft killed it for me.

Bye Bye Lara. See you another adventure one day. :(

I saying Rise is the admission to the party, rather than being at the party right now.

The thing is, with an exclusive development focus, they'll be able to develop a game to stride alongside Sony IP's. Sure, it's a cheap way out but it gets them in the same space. If it's good enough it might even move consoles.

That is a shame if it has become an XBO exclusive. The last TR was very good, but lacked what Drake the character and the humor bring to uncharted. The last TR story, but written as an Uncharted game would have been great.

Yes?

Yeah, but Tomb Raider had paper-thin exposition as to why she went about murdering people!11

They must have paid an absolute fortune for this to be 100% exclusive. Not sure it will be worth it in the long run though and I'm puzzled as to why they are vetoing a PC release.

Basically Microsoft's way of competing with the Uncharted franchise. Pretty smart move, but SE will be the only losers in all of this - the game is not enough of a pull to get gamers on board the MS train.

I really enjoyed the new Tomb Raider, but like strawberry float am I getting an xbone to play it on. Oh well, we can hope that this doesn't stay exclusive forever. I imagine that, like Ryse, when it doesn't sell enough they will reconsider.

I'd say a PC version 6 months to a year later is a pretty good bet.

Well, that's the thing. SE aren't likely to have voluntarily "made themselves losers" on the deal, so one assumes that whatever MS has paid, it's enough to offset the loss of PC and PS4 sales, or that it's temporary exclusivity and they're counting on making that cash later.

But there's a chance that the denial will serve to MAKE it a big deal in a way that simply releasing on all formats from the get-go wouldn't ever have.

I don't think I have to buy an X Box One purely because of Tomb Raider.

What a weird move.

"exclusive" means different things to different people.

"Ultimate Doom" anybody? Doom 2 was tied up on other platforms, so iD crowbarred a couple of extra episodes into Doom 1 and sold it again.
