Not everyone can use rollerskates (I'd fall over instantly), and bikes can only get you so far. Maybe nobody's making replacement parts for them, maybe all the bike makers went to China or something.

Nobody is manufacturing anything.

I do think some of you are perhaps underestimating what the sudden and complete absence of absolutely everything that runs on electricity would do to the world.

I wasn't overly impressed by the first few episodes but I'm really enjoying it now.

Was a bit ridiculous that after 10 episodes of trying to rescue Danny, he gets himself killed in the 11th and wtf was that thing hidden in his chest

Army can't control whole USA, without communication relaying orders is impossible so it returns to older style "regional control" with militia taking over areas and fighting each other for control. Makes sense to me, no phones, no radio, no email etc. plus they make it clear that militia are stockpiling modern guns leaving older stuff as only choice for most people.

It's almost like people didn't get by fine without electricity before.

It's almost like, once electricity came along, all of us in the developed world became so dependent on it and everything it enables that skills most people had before its dissemination were quickly lost en masse.

People lived very differently then.

Not only have skills been lost as Alvin says, there are a lot more people now which is a significant issue. Then there are expectations, people 200 years ago didn't have the expectations the average person does now.

Was pretty rubbish, I couldn't make it through a whole episode.

Everyone was very attractive though, which I suppose is par for an American series but even so, you'd think make up would stop being produced in this world.

That's the real issue. We developed skills once, we could do so again.

The problem is that our entire civilization in it's current state is utterly dependant on electricity to live. Without a fridge/freezer, food's gonna start being a huge issue. And hunger is a great motivator.

The rebels are obviously stealing weapons from every militia member they kill/capture.

Information about information relating to US pace (episode 13)...

Current episode reveals what is causing electricity to not work.

Its not really a spoiler and some people who are on the verge of giving up on it might be interested to know that information.
