All we saw was a vast expanse of white sand, very tempting water, a scattering of sunbathers, and a few more people hanging out around the equipment (mainly attractively-muscled men showing off, and kids helping each other up to reach the rings).

YOU HAVE NO IDEA. IT WAS SO COOL. My brother has most of the photos since I was too busy climbing everything to take any, but here's one of the adult-sized rings:

Thats looks about as much fun as the hernia operation that would most likely follow it.

I still need to have my hernia operation *shudders*

I've left it so far as I've never really had anyone to be around to help me the day after/same day so I couldn't get it done.

It's not been giving me any problems but still not looking forward to it >_<

The op is fine, but the couple of weeks for recovery are a bit gooseberry fool (took me 4 weeks to get back to normal) spent the whole time on the xbox :D

What exactly does the recovery involve, just limited movement or something?

yeah, because of where they cut it means that any involving stomach muscles hurts like hell so to start with sitting up is a pain the arse as you have to move without using stomach as it hurts after a while that improves and you can slowly get up and move about.

Aren't most hernias fixed laparoscopically, now?

I was walking less than a week after a laparotomy. I didn't try it, but I'm pretty sure I could have busted out a few situps as well. Don't be a pussy.

I've never had a hernia, but I can vouch for how disabling it can be to have stomach muscles cut.

It depends I think.

For me it took a few weeks, a mate of mine was being a right baby about though and took 3 months to get back to normal.

You appear to have no eyes on the second pic. Looks kinda scary.
