That’s not a right wing flag. It’s a charity symbol and has no political affiliation.
https://www.thinbluelineuk.org.uk/about/You’re thinking of the American blue line flag. Which was adopted by American far right organisations as a solidarity symbol with their police.
It's only called racist when it's flying from a copper, when it's on a website it's called a charity symbol.
Glibness aside, the point Knoy was making is that this charity (alongside so many other organisations - see posts above!) have done exactly the same thing as Nike, but because the current England team are a symbol of everything the right wing hate it's now a problem.
Well no,
he said the right had defaced it. But they didn’t. The right may be happy with it but they didn’t make it.
Me personally I don’t care what Nike have done with the flag. I think the colours look nice.
I only said defaced to mirror the way people are talking about the kit. I don't think either counts as defacing personally.
I don't think either side is defacing the flag either.
However, whether you agree with it or not (or believe it's political or not) the TBL Union Flag is quite clearly an icon with a message behind it from an advocacy group. The right wing "lornordah" crowd
love this message and choose to amplify and support it.
Nike have made a "playful update" to the St George Cross (read: we need something to differentiate this from the last £100 shirt we asked you to buy). It has nothing to do with anyone even
remotely involved with the left wing - but the same right wing crowd that love the TBL patches are complaining that the flag has been besmirched by the wOkE mOb! It hasn't, we had nothing to do with it
The problem is, and always has been, the right wing.
