These opinions aren't really new and have always been there. It's just in the past you'd only hear them in pubs instead of writ large across political manifestos or social media.

The liberating notion of social media giving everyone a voice has to be tempered by the fact that some people you're giving a voice to are strawberry floating morons.

This bit is what everyone should be up in arms about

Going on sale on 21 March, the "authentic" version is priced at £124.99 for adults and £119.99 for children, while a "stadium" version costs £84.99 and £64.99 for children.

People are always going to feel emboldened by group reassurance, which is something anyone can easily obtain via social media.

I've always been perplexed that anyone would buy these shirts. Fair enough if it's your child's ultimate desire for their birthday that year, I guess...

They were £90 back in 2014. So (with how bad inflation has been), the new one is a bargain. ;)

What's the difference between authentic and stadium versions?

The authentic one is pretty close to the one the players wear. The badge will be flat attached plastic rather than stitched on, the material will have all sorts of features to it to help you when you sweat and run around a football pitch, and also it will be extremely tight and form fitting.

It will also start to disintegrate when you wash it because the "real" shirts aren't designed to be worn repeatedly!

The replica ones are much more flattering on those of us with a "less athletic" figure.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I believe the authentic ones are the exact same shirts the players get. Stadium are made from a material better suited to normal wear, and have a more forgiving fit.
EDIT: As Wincky said.

Authentic means you'll fall over a lot if you wear it.

Stadium means people will call you a banana split.

So typical of the left (Nike) to deface the flag. Wouldn't catch the right doing that.

Nike and England dropped the red and white cross on the collar, replacing it with navy, blue and purple stripes. Nike insisted the “playful update” was meant to “unite and inspire” fans for the 2024 tournament.

The FA was reported as stating that the idea was to honour the “classic colour regime of 1966 training gear” used when England won the World Cup but, after Lee Anderson and Nigel Farage of Reform UK vented their fury, Starmer also followed up in an interview.

The leader of the opposition, currently enjoying a large lead in the polls with an election expected in the autumn, was speaking to the Sun political correspondent Harry Cole and said: “I’m a big football fan, I go to England games, men, women’s games. And the flag is used by everybody, it’s unifying, it doesn’t need to change.

“We just need to be proud of it. So I think they should just reconsider this and change it back.”

Starmer continued: “I’m not even sure they can properly explain why they thought they needed to change in the first place. They could also reduce the price of the shirts.”

He's utterly terrified of pissing off the right

Christ that's embarrassing. The next four years are going to be very painful. I give it two years before he's forced out of office after winning the election.

I've got to say I may not agree but I can respect his stance about not altering the flag of a nation when it's used in emblems or designs of other things.

Anyway, on an unrelated note Starmer had a redesign of the Labour party membership cards and this was the result:
