They’ve been successfully doing this with Capita (and formerly ATOS) since Cameron. Don’t like what doctors are saying? Pay a private company to interpret limited evidence however you want them to. Getting gooseberry fool for people finding out you’re setting those companies quotas for the number of people you want removed from those benefits? Hide the quotas in ‘guidelines’.

Useless approach, they force people into situations that exacerbate their illness, claim success (and the fat fee), then the people end up back at the NHS in a worse condition than before. Economic stupidity as it does more harm and consumes more resource, proposed by those who have only a simplistic view of a complex issue.

The small percentage of people actually playing the system will continue to find a way to play the system. It's a failed government trying to blame anyone but themselves for their failings. Immigrants, student doctors, trans and the disabled have all taken their turn recently, which will make every day life harder for anyone in these groups, with those in society who hold prejudices feeling empowered to voice them.

It just feels like a repeat of the early 2010's (blame people with medical conditions for absolutely everything).

Perhaps before punishing people, maybe they should take a moment to try and figure out why so many folks have developed issues? It's not as if we've had a once in a generation pandemic which killed hundreds of thousands in the UK, and left countless more traumatised and unable to access support because of the degradation of the health service eh.

It shows just what a psychopath Cameron is. He had a severely disabled and sick son, but seems to have zero empathy for disabled/sick people.
