The gammon are currently frothing at the mouth in rage because one of them noticed that tiny little bit of writing that warns about discriminatory language
I want to see the press ask for some receipts. The whole narrative has been that we need to spend money on British people first, look after our own and so on, right? So the press should be asking how much this evil little scheme is projected to save over how long, and where those savings will be spent. I want to see timeframes and promises.
Because, and stop me if I’m sounding conspiratorial here, but I don’t think it’s about saving money at all! I think it might be about votes, and the press should be making them explain where this ends.
Edit: To be absolutely clear I know this is about appeasing racists and bigots, and I give not a solitary strawberry float how much it would cost NOT to be a banana split to immigrants. It’s just if they want to play pretend that this whole chapter of our history is anything other than a slide towards the ugliest that humanity has to offer then I want them to have to explain themselves, over and over, so their failure is apparent to everyone.

Humza Yousaf is preparing to quit as Scotland’s first minister after coming to the conclusion that his position is no longer tenable.
Senior SNP figures have been told the nationalist leader decided over the weekend that there is no way for him to survive this week’s vote of no confidence and he may stand down on Monday.
It comes as Yousaf struggles to put together a coalition of MSPs that would keep him in office after he sacked the Scottish Greens from government.
A close friend said: “Humza knows what’s best for the country and the party. He is first party activist and a party man, and that’s why he knows it’s time for someone else.”
Truly fascinated by Yousaf's plays the last week. All things pointing to him resigning at noon after he lost support in the Scottish parliament because he kicked the Green's out for...reasons? Never seen a person commit political suicide so rapidly. At least Truss was dead on arrival.
The worrying thing is if one of the more Transphobic members of the SNP get in because that's going to make it even worse for trans people than it already is.

Indeed, and a policy generally popular with the public as well. I was disappointed he didn’t leave on his scooter. Going to be tricky finding a unifying leader - Swinney I guess but I’d of thought he’s tainted from the last regime. Probably should allow an election but they will cling on to power as long as possible. At least they are following the UK government model of a succession of unelected leaders running things into the ground.

Either from a two thirds majority voting for it, like the Fixed Term Act in Parliament used to work, or the Scottish Parliament fails to elect a First Minister in the next 28 days.
