The 10-7 isn't so bad, but strawberry float knows what the guy with J-10 is doing! :fp:

Recently I have seen an alarming (if not potentially exciting trend) of people starting to call with airball draws - such as calling all-in with K-J on an A-10-6 board. Crazy stuff.

Also Open Face Chinese is being trialled for the WSOP. The way its being played so much, and just seems to have captured peoples imaginations (heck people play it at the Phoenix) I think its inevitable it will get an event or two at the WSOP.

Yeah I don't mind the plays on that hand, just annoying to flop the nuts and get in three way, see that nobody has a flush draw, but then lose to a 3-outer.

On the other tables I was getting it in with JJ and called by KJo , he hits a king. Another guy just wouldn't give up his flush draw on the flop and then made it of course.

Maybe it's just because I haven't played for a couple of months (and I'm including a few $2 tourneys) but the standard of play is even worse than I remember, which is great now that I know! :D

That Chinese poker sounds interesting. I only heard about it a few days ago but it does seem to be the next big thing, and probably worth learning.

I think I've played that a couple times, it's good fun. Don't understand it too well. Might be a good thing to play as a timekiller down in Pompey?

Nah thats the boring version of it. Open Face Chinese Poker is when you lay it out in the open. You start with five cards which you can put in either your top, middle or bottom row, then from that point onwards you get one card at a time. Its really swingy if you add 'royalties' and if you foul your hand you get scooped. Plus if you can get Queens or higher on the top you get to go to Fantasyland!

I'm not even kidding.

LETS PLAY BAMBOOZLE!

Perhaps we should look at incorporating Open Face into the meet somehow.

In other news, the WSOP schedule has been released. http://www.wsop.com/2013/2013_wsop_schedule.pdf

I like how they've tried to stop men entering the ladies event by making it ten times as expensive if you're not female

Yeah, pretty much the next hand

Guy gets it in with AJ and I make the call with AQ, then some random donk behind me decides his A8o is good enough to call all-in. An 8 comes on the turn. :fp:

I only had that one table open, so was playing more agressive than usual as I couldn't be bothered to be hanging on for hours in a $4 MTT, but still was way ahead when I got it in.

Ah cool, let us know if you do.

I finished 15th in a $1 rebuy earlier. There was only like ~$300 up top so I only cashed for $15. Currently it my last tournament of the night, the $4,000 Gtd R/A. Bit below average stack at the moment but still a long way to go.

Played a bit of 2-7 Triple Draw on Full Tilt and came away with a small profit. Just in a $3 MTT on Full Tilt now, then will call it a night.

I need to re-deposit at some point and start playing some proper tourneys.

I broke even after 8 hours of tournaments yesterday. Go me. 8-)

Pompey meeters - Do we have any plans/ideas for all the time we won't be playing poker other than walking around Pompey? Are we going to play some footy?

What other stuff is there to do PPM/DML?

We'll make some more defined plans over the next couple of days. I'm not going to be able to hang the whole weekend with you guys though, will have to see my girlfriend at least one of the days.

I'd be up for playing a bit of footy at some point. I'm sure we can find somewhere for a kick around, maybe on Southsea common? Other than that there's Gunwharf and Commercial Road if you want to look around the shops and get something to eat, nothing massively cultural though.
