From what I saw of the hand calling with the 8-3 in the position once the pro committed would have been awful.

I don't think he's being serious. At least I hope he's not.

I wasn't involved in the pot yet but some of the limpers who were involved had me covered. I was pretty sure that they would call if I shoved just because they are donks and the pro was all-in, and so with 83 it's an easy fold. Keep my decent stack and try to win the 1st place prize which is over $230,000...

Edit: This is the actual hand btw:
(Pro is BTN)
Poker Stars $50+$5 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t50/t100 Blinds + t10 - 9 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

BB: t1153 M = 4.80
UTG: t4892 M = 20.38
UTG+1: t4525 M = 18.85
UTG+2: t6848 M = 28.53
MP1: t7916 M = 32.98
MP2: t8419 M = 35.08
CO: t2375 M = 9.90
BTN: t1745 M = 7.27
Hero (SB): t9011 M = 37.55

Pre Flop: (t240) Hero is SB with 8Image 3Image
UTG raises to t200, UTG+1 calls t200, 2 folds, MP2 calls t200, 1 fold, BTN raises to t1735 all in, 2 folds, UTG raises to t4882 all in, 2 folds

Flop: (t4110) 3Image 8Image 6Image (2 players - 2 are all in)

Turn: (t4110) 2Image (2 players - 2 are all in)

River: (t4110) AImage (2 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: t4110
UTG shows QImage AImage (a pair of Aces)
BTN shows AImage KImage (a pair of Aces - King kicker)
BTN wins t4110

I was wrong the limper didn't quite have me covered but would ruin my tournament if I lost an all-in with them.

Red Spade has been so dull. I think I've only had one decent hand, which was AK and someone else also had AK so it was a split pot. No idea how I've hung on to min-cash as I've just been folding every hand. :?

Edit: And out with a $130 min-cash. I have 10bb and call in BB with 55 vs SB shove expecting a flip and it is as he has K9o. Rivers a king. Nice to make a profit and I get a few hours sleep. :)

Aaron isn't replying to texts and I'm on holiday so if people want to try contact him regarding registration. I might just have to cross fingers and hope there are Friday seats still when I get back. :(

Traffic won't be a problem for footy. We attended a Cov game last season and it wasn't bad at all. Pretty empty and I personally don't think the roads are that bad compared to other cities like say Birmingham. Also we will be playing poker way before Cov begin.

Fair enough- admittedly I was going on a couple seasons back so it sounds like they've sorted it.

Properly excited. I'm doing better and better on the tables I play, so I feel I can at least not embarass myself on the day.

Out of interest, where are people driving to/from? (PM if you don't want to say in the thread)

When are you back? I'm sure (well, I hope) it won't have sold out yet.

I'm driving from Guildford. Might take my little motorbike as it's stupidly cheap to run, but I could take car if someone needed a lift.

I tried registering for the Goliath over the phone. They say you can if you already have a G Casino card, but mine is hiding somewhere so I will have to find it tomorrow and try again. Spoke to someone else before that and he sounded a bit clueless so I wouldn't rely on this, but he said you should be able to register on the day before 11am.

In other news, I still haven't receive my Micromillions hat so I've sent a friendly reminder to Stars.

I tried regging over the phone. I had my debit card and my G Casino card ready and everything, and they said that I had to register at my local G Casino as they can't accept card payments over the phone unless you have used your debit card there before.

 :fp:

Totally missed Drummy and Sat's replies there, sorry.

Good to know. Have to admit I'm getting a tad concerned about the fact all days are due to end at about Midnight....

Trains to where I live from Coventry stop by that point- not sure on buses, but I know they don't run too late. Worst comes to worst I'll hostel/taxi it, just one of those things really!

I've finally managed to register for the Goliath! :D

After wrestling with the Grosvenor poker software for ages, I suddenly remembered that I had the same trouble last year and in the end was told to use Blue Sq. So I logged into Blue Sq Poker could see that they allowed you to buy-in direct to Goliath. Made a deposit and registered.

Now we just need to get our team together. Can everyone who's playing send me their full names and I'll register the team.
Team name suggestions also welcome.

What's your username on there? At the moment I can only see GhostQuarter.

As I've managed to log in, this is the closest yet I've come to registering. I'll keep you all posted on these exciting developments.
