First three words of that announcement reminded me of that scene in one of the American Pie films. Great news though. Where is Red Devil?

I'm in Coventry for the weekend and myself, Rocketman, DR (and maybe Rex) are going to hit up the Ricoh on Sunday for their deep stack tournament. Looking for a scoop. I've loaded the N4 with USTV for the travel.

Is that the Nexus 4? I got one of those yesterday, what a piece of kit!

And yes, I am back and ready to lose money having forgotten how to play poker 8-)

Think I might stick in $100/150 and play mostly casual tournaments for now, but looking to play live with you guys when you get together too, who knows.

It's not bad but quite basic.

Anyone going to play any poker tomorrow? I'm considering playing a few Sunday tournies on Stars. Probably just 4-6 though.

DD, Rocketman and I have arrived and are in the tournament. I'll post updates when I can.

Stacks at first break:

Me 33k
Rocketman 27k
DD 23k

Started with 20k. I lost 10k with AK on KJ45T when guy had KJ. Table is fairly young with lots of TAGs.

KK > AQ. Now at 46k.

Stacks at second break:

Me 57k
Rocketman 35k
DD 15k

After KK hand I played perhaps the worst hand of my life. :fp:

No time to get it on here now but rest assured I'll post it for ridicule later. After said hand I was moved table. Few hands in I raise AQ from the button over one limper and the BB comes along. Flop is 995 rainbow and I bet out after its checked to me. BB folds and limper tank moves in. I thought for a couple of minutes as my gut just said he didn't have anything and shoved as he felt I probably had air. I called and he had 75. River was an ace though :datass:

Lost AK vs. A5 for one third of my stack. Sitting at around 35k at 1k 2k

Update at the break

Me - busto
Rocketman 35k
DD 30k

I dodged AA twice from the same guy when I had AQ and AJ before shoving for 35k with AT. Same guy wakes up with AA in the big blind.

Just confirmed the Goliath dates with Karl the casino manager.

20th Aug - Day 1a
21st Aug - Day 1b
22nd Aug - Day 1c
23rd Aug - Day 1d

There's also going to be a £5k Gtd side tournament each evening which will be a £50 buy in.

Bustoed in 13th, A8s vs A9o. Not much excitement in mine, just kept getting worn down, doubling ad infinitum. I did manage to lose with a Full House to Quads though.

One of the guys who set up the pub poker league me and PMM play in is the chipleader at the Irish Open final table.
