You can have a good look at the info as well. Its just a smallish poker club but its pretty well run all in all.

Just confirming that I registered earlier today. :)

INFORMATION FOR POMPEY MEETERS

Right - today I went and scouted out the G Casino at Gunwharf Quays just to see what the situation was regards the Poker Room. This visit has changed quite a number of things unexpectedly.

Firstly, I wasn't that bothered about showing you the casino, it wasn't that impressive before but JESUS WOW has it changed. Its at least twice as big, and the poker room is a fully dedicated furnished place, and there is also a massive sports bar on offer. This is a great place now!

Now the bad news and the main reason I am glad I went up.

There is no Omaha tournament on the Saturday and indeed currently no tournament on the Saturday at all.

Apparently it was a new addition and it bombed big style so it got pulled, so basically we can't go there on a Saturday unless we want to exclusively play cash. However, I do not want to miss out showing you guys the G Casino because its now super super nice rather then the very average casino I thought it still was from before.

Cash runs at all times apparently, and starts at 50p/£1, althougn often they don't get enough players for that - so the most popular game is 50p/£1, although there is also £1/£1. Also they are starting a thing called 'Poker In The Pit' where you can play poker in the traditional gambling pit at a blackjack style table at 25p/50p - the idea its like a less threatening introduction to the game. Also it means you can only buy in for about £10-£20.

This obviously changes things, so it might have to be Fri/Sat - Phoenix, Sunday - G-Casino? Apparently they had 26 players last Sunday for the £40 Sunday game.

The revamp of the casino's pretty swish isn't it? Really impressed with it, when's the last time you went there? It's been like that for quite a while.

I'm easy either way. If people want to try their luck at cash instead then I'm happy to roll with it. Same with if we fancy hitting the Phoenix the first 2 nights and Grosvenors on Sunday.

Phoenix/Phoenix/Grosvenor then. I can get behind that.

More importantly, and perhaps crucially - does the Grosvenor have craps tables? We'll need to resume our baller status.

I've not played on any down there but that's not to say there isn't any. If there is I may give it a whirl...

FFS - I literally (don't post Mini E) could not be running worse moving into the Pompey Meet.

Tonight I went up the Phoenix and got to the final table. Got Aces all in against Kings pre having also maximised value from another player at the table already - and for 40% of the chips in play with 9 players left he strawberry floating spikes a King on the flop.

strawberry float OFF.

I'm okayish now - this year is almost a carbon copy of last year, no real results for the first bit of the year, I hoping next weekend is going to be the making of it. I played really well all night. Best bit was getting a guy I play with regularly (who PPM knows) who regularly thinks I'm always at it call my river bet with Ace high when I had Aces.

Must be rigged. Are we sure this Phoenix Club is not the same Phoenix Club from Phoenix Nights?

This is what I'm expecting it to be like:

Loaded up five tournaments for the first time I've played poker since November... and got knocked out of four of them within a couple of minutes :fp:

I was ahead each time, just forget how light people call and that they will chase draws with terrible odds.
This one was the first hand of my tournament and I get dealt the nuts:
