Just got back after visiting the parents on the way home.

The weekend got off to a rocky start when none of us cashed in the first tournament. My busto out of that was with TT, flop is Txx. I had raised pre and bet the flop but Remi wouldn't fold. Turn is a Q and I bet large again, still a call. River is K, Remi shoves and I call the rest of my stack. He shows J9o for the runner runner straight. :fp:

PPM won the 2nd visit to the phoenix club, but he was the only one of us to cash in that tournament. My busto moment was almost identical to the previous night, except I had flopped a set of queens and got it in on the turn after JT had made a straight. I still had tons of outs for the full house, but missed it.

The Sunday night game at the G Casino provided a much better result. 5 of us entered and there were 33 players altogether, 4 of us reached the final 7.
Top 5 cashed, but after Drum got knocked out in 7th we agreed to take £10 of each prize for 6th place, which PPM received. DML managed to make it to 4th for £120, and then somehow I finished 1st for £500, despite being down to 4bb early on in the tourney!

Other highlights include winning the Crazy Poker game, particularly a hand where the rule was that if you have 69 in your hand it can be turned into AA. Flop is 997 and I check, DR bets, and Drum shoves. DR is so keen to get it in that he snap calls out of turn, and I calmly call both all-ins. DR has the 69(or AA), Drum has A9, I have 77 for flopped full house, which holds.

My first experience of Open Face Chinese Poker was also a good one with a profit of £25 at stakes of 10p a point!

Great weekend guys! Cheers to everyone who was there!

Awesome meet.

Night 1 - I got KO'd three times in 40 mins with two pair vs. set, QQ < AK and ATss < K6o when the guy with K6 moved in blind.
Night 2 - I make the FT with the chip lead. JJ < QQ & A9 < TT sees me out in 7th. PPM who joined me at the FT went on to win it.
Night 3 - I make the FT as a short stack and busted in 7th despite doubling up through PPM. PPM got 6th, DML got 4th and Sat got 1st obv.

Perhaps the biggest talking point of the weekend was the Open Face Chinese poker we played. It's easy to see why it's taking off and becoming one of the more popular variants of poker. Ridiculous levels of fun.

Cracking weekend, just got home.

On Black Friday I got busted after Remy shoved his cards blind, I called JJ and someone behind called 76s and the flop went 766 and then bricked off...but in a way, that was a blessing in disguise, as I got Drum to teach me basic PLO, and then I think that's when I brought up the idea of playing Open Faced Chinese, which turned out to be the best part of the weekend. Saturday I got done calling a Check-Shove with AA on 953 to trips. Sunday was just a nightmare for me.

Too much to fit into one post, but I had a really cracking time with four top people, so cheers for a good weekend guys, and thanks for putting up with me donking out three days straight. (and putting up with me in general) :P I feel like I've been in Narnia.

Other highlights include...

Dark Ritual nearly spitting out his tea from laughing that I was in the hole £4.30 to him at OFC after about five hands.

Me ordering a curry only to find they couldn't be arsed to actually...y'know...CUT THE MEAT INTO LITTLE BITS.

Dark Ritual getting slow-rolled for his nachos at the Wetherspoons - 'would you like them now or later?'

Mine and Drumsticks vital all-in on the final table, with the loser being crippled. Drum's J-9h vs my A-2
Flop - 5-6-7 Turn 8 River 9.

PPM's cat with the gayest meow ever. meeeOWWWW!

Winning my first game of OFC by a monstrous 185 points. In turn Drumstick was 165 points down. If we had been playing for money, Drummy would have been £16.50 after only 15 hands! As it was I won double the action I would have got - and PPM duly delivered a win to net me £20, more then covering my subsequent £10.60 downswing of OFC over the next two days!

Drumstick finally coming good and reaching double Narnia. It was less simply finding the Wardrobe, more like strawberry floating Aslan from behind.

Thankfully I came out the big winner of today's OFC. Double Narnia with flush on both the middle and back rows after starting with an absolute nightmare of a hand.

Oh and anyone with an iPhone/iPad - get the free OFC app. We should play a few games there.

Great shout, downloading it now. Maybe I will get into Narnia after all. :o

I bet Narnia isn't part of that app's rules.

I've downloaded it but it looks like the free one is the 'Pass N' Play' one. I'm guessing that means you have to buy the proper version?

Narnia is Fantasyland right?

As in, hitting Queens or better at the front.

Nope. Narnia is hitting 77 on the bottom row, meaning you get dealt your next hand after everyone else, all 13 in one go.

Yeah, I think DML said that Fantasyland is getting Queens or better in your front row and that to stay in Fantasyland you have to get something like quads on your back row. Not sure if that's right.

You have to get Quads on the bottom, a Full House in the middle or trips up top I believe to stay in Fantasyland. Narnia is just more enjoyable because its quite gettable, but also because everyone coos when a 7 gets dealt out. Getting Queens+ on the front is a big ask, getting 7s is gettable. Plus Narnia has the 'Jumanji' rule!
