Who seems to be coming so far? What about Sat/Luw?

Ok Slayer!

I'll talk to DML about it on Thursday and see what's going on with both of us.

I'm 90% coming to Goliath, just need to book the weekend off work.

Is the final table on the Bank holiday Monday or does it run into the week?

Excellent. Will you need a hotel? FT seems to be on the Monday. I've just booked the Friday off.

This :D

and mainly on pokerstars, and on the micro sngs.... the russians will call preflop with any suited card, and they do not have to be short stack, they just love their suited cards :D

Just raised pre-flop 3 x min with my 9s, called by one Russian... flop comes 235, turn J, river K. He ends up showing 35s. :fp:

I love low gapped connectors. Particularly when it's relatively cheap and I'm in position, players can't ditch their high pairs if the flop comes the right way.

They do have the tendency to make you win some very large pots if the flop comes the right way

I just signed up for 888 poker because I saw an online advert that said "$8 FREE! NO DEPOSIT!" When I get done registering, because I've chosen my location as the UK, the message read "You will shortly receive your £12".

Made another final table on 888, but I finished 4th this time. Won $184, so I'm not complaining :)

Nice one Clarkman :)

Just played the last 5 hands of a S&G. Got dealt aces twice, then kings, then aces, then AJ which hit a set of jacks against two pair K10.  Why do I never get dealt that at high stakes? Knocked out the other four players in the last five hands

Nice Clarky!

Just another heads up, I'd love some concrete responses on goliath this weekend. I'm going to book my Megan is pretty soon, and would like to know how many rooms we'll need for the tourney.

2nd place in a $1.50 SnG... I'm an idiot...

Spoiled for badly played hand

Hero (SB) (t5,545)
BB (t7,955)

Hero's M: 24.64

Preflop: Hero is SB with JImage, JImage
Hero bets t300, BB calls t150

Flop: (t600) 7Image, 6Image, KImage (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t300, BB raises to t1,050, Hero raises to t5,245 (All-In), BB calls t4,195

Turn: (t11,090) 9Image (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t11,090) 2Image (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: t11,090

Results below:
Hero had JImage, JImage (one pair, Jacks).
BB had KImage, 9Image (two pair, Kings and nines).
Outcome: BB won t11,090

* I should have bet 5bb preflop minimum :fp:
* Same on the flop, then maybe I would have folded to his raise (if he'd even called the preflop bet) :fp:

Preflop is fine. You should be raising every hand from the button for the same amount when the stacks are that deep.

When he check raises you on the flop, you still do have a medium strength hand. He's doing that play with a lot of his flush draws, so it is okay to peel there and then reassess on the turn. If he barrels the turn for over half pot, then you might have to let it go.

The disadvantage to 4 betting that flop is that all better hands call and all worse hands fold, so you give your hand negative equity. By turning JJ into a bluff, you're really limiting yourself.

Ah, that's a great way of looking at it! Thanks.

Had a pretty good day overall, made most of my money on the Zoom tables though. I always seem to do really well there. I've been playing for 10 days now though and after extrapolating the VPP I'm earning I don't think I'm going to unlock my double deposit bonus. Bit of a gip, but I guess I should concentrate on improving my game rather than looking for shortcuts.

Oh that reminds me, I talked to DML and it's all a bit up in the air at the moment. We'll get back to you as soon as we know any more, but it might be best for now if you plan ahead without us and then we'll make our own arrangements - regarding accomodation - nearer the time if it does happen. Obviously if we're all planning on driving up there we can sort that out, just not too sure what the situation is with us right now.

EDIT: Just seen the messages, PM'd.

I should be, yeah. As I mentioned in the PM I'm gonna try to satellite into it. It's just I'm not working regularly at the moment so I can't really go spending £100 on a poker tournament, plus the costs of travelling, accommodation and general spending over the weekend. Hopefully I can sat into it though, plus I should be working over the summer.
