Raised preflop with 10s. One caller. Flop 345. I bet, get raised all in and I call. He shows J10 off - complete air bluff.... then hits his 3 outer on the river :fp:

Got a 33 Euro ticket last night and very nearly got a second. Got maybe 2 or 3 tries at the bottom level as well with the bot of change I picked up for second. This feels very doable.

Got knocked out of both my 33 Euro attempts, but they both filled up with quite a lot of players. :(

The main one I was doing well in I had Ace Queen - isolate an all in player who has A-10, and this utter donkey calls off 40BBs having only just called a 2.5BB raise from me with 10-9 off and spikes a Nine. :fp: :x How does that happen?!

Keep trying!

If you do get through and are stuck for a place to stay I don't have loads of room but you're welcome to the sofa.

In other news, I still haven't booked off the Goliath dates yet. I requested it along with a few other holidays in the summer and they gave me all the other ones but must've missed the August dates as I haven't had a response.

It's pretty clear that the thing stopping me from advancing beyond beginner/noob is a refusal to "learn the maths". One tip I've just come across in order to do this is to switch to Limit Holdem so there's less variance in my bankroll while I'm learning this key skillset, is this bad advice? I don't really trust the source because it was more of a promotional thing for a particular poker website.

The problem I've found with limit hold 'em low stakes is that the quality of play is so low, everyone wants to see every flop it rewards luck more than skill.

Last day of uni poker today. 4pm-11pm - cash games, SnG's, tournament if enough people show up. It's gon' be a good day* 8-)

6pm €30 Turbo 25 Day 1 seats GTD

7pm €30 Turbo 50 Day 1 seats GTD

Oh Phoenix!

updates from this afternoons £100 game - 42 runners starting with another hour of registration still open we have our first casualty when reece called 2 all ins pre and found himself up against KK AA - his 53 o/s looked to be struggling but made a straight when hitting a gutshot 7 on the river and mark smith is the man first to hit the rail

I would register to make up the numbers, but my day 2 gets forfeited if I play any more satellites.

I just came 52nd! :dread:

There were 60 left, I had half an ante left - I put it in with J-5 and lost. If I had waited, I would have got in. Just didnt see ten people dropping out. :x

This is actually driving me mad. :x All the good value tournaments getting cancelled because no-one wants to be on such shite software, and I can't even win a $3 to save my life. :(
