Does the DS have to be turned on for street pass or is it just a case of carrying it around?

It has to be turned on.
Not sure how it would work if it were turned off.

Well that's atleast something. I assume the Pokémon game has to be in the system to get the Eon ticket? Might try it next time I'm out and about.

That I'm not sure about. I've only ever noticed passes for the game I am currently playing but then thats expected as thats the game I am playing.

as long as the streetpass functionality of the game is switched on you don't need the game in the console

These are all up now to download using Mystery Gift if anyone hasn't yet.

The code for a Contrary Serperior is Pokemon 497, a Reckless Emboar is Pokemon500 and for a Samurott with Shell Armor it's Pokemon503

Shame Serperiors movepool is so shallow, otherwise a Contrary Leaf Storm combo could've been really fun.

Contrary Leaf Storm is so freakin overpowered it only needs grass moves anyway to be fair :slol:

I have Leaf Storm, Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Mean Look. The point being come in on something you can beat, Mean Look it, proceeds to leaf storm it to oblivion and then even resisted hits on the next targets will take good damage. It's been a fun set to use in the game anyway..

Do you need ORAS to get these or can I get them in X?

I transferred to my Sapphire but I think it works with XY as well. You can only have one set per pokemon bank though if you've got multiple game carts and it will transfer them to whichever game is in when you boot up pokemon bank to get them.

I've no real idea how Pokemon Bank works.
How do I get these?
Can I transfer pokemon from it to ORAS?
If so, how & do they dissappear from XY?

It's a downloadable paid for service for storing Pokémon. £5 for a year subscription. It allows you to transfer Pokémon from XY and ORAS games into the pokemon bank and back or as a way of trading between your different game carts using only one DS system. There is also the 'poke-transporter' which is separate but allows transfer of Pokémon from the 5th generation into XY/ORAS and works in a similar way.

You can't trade items though, but I think you can store Pokémon that know HM moves where normally they can't be traded. Not 100% positive on that though so correct me if I'm wrong.

It's pretty handy as all 31 boxes on my Alpha Sapphire game are pretty full and the nicefree gifts you get every now and then are a bonus. There was a free Celebi when it first launched but you can also get BP and pokemiles to transfer over to your games as well as promo events like these Johto starters. Sheer Force in particular is a great ability for Feraligatr and Flash Fire is a great ability for Typhlosion too..

That's great. I'll probably pap them into X and then ORAS when I get one, then.

I wish Pokemon Bank could interface with the older DS titles before the fifth gen. I don't know why they haven't got that functionality. Apart from that, it is decent enough. I want more free pokemans.

Playing White at the moment, loving it. They should do the completely new roster thing more often. Means I'm not using Manectric and Alakazam again (I have like 3 high level versions of each).

Anything you've got in BW/BW2 is transferable to XY/ORAS via poketransporter. You can transfer things from HG/SS or D/P to BW/BW2 through local wireless trading but you need two DS systems. You can go pretty far back if you want but most stuff is catchable in gen 6 now anyway :)

Yeah, I ended up doing that, it was a little annoying. I've been playing Pokemon since the beginning so I had a whole bunch of monsters on my Emerald, Pearl and Soul Silver. Those teams are now in Omega Ruby.

My emerald cart has a dying save battery, so I'm glad I got whatever I needed off that.
