i have a feeling ipads will get out of date quickly the4 rate at which they enhance them. didn't get one for games anyway so not a worry for me.
the lack of a replaceable battery is bloody stupid mind if i want to keep it as mobile social platform and tv device for a few years.

You can replace the Vita battery, you have to unscrew the system and then remove it, but it can be done, it's in the Vita instruction manual.

Unless you were talking iPad, then I'll shut up and move along :shifty:

He probably is, iPhone, iPad and iPod all don't let you access the battery. Having said that, my Playbook won't let you either. Service in the Apple stores is pretty good though, when my US iPod went wrong, I took it into a UK store and they just swapped it over for a new one.

Yes?

I really hope that dedicated hand held gaming doesn't die in the wake of smart phones and tablets.

I love my iphone but as a gaming device it's pretty rubbish.

I think the real question has to be, what does Micheal Pachter think of the launch? He's the single most consistent benchmark I can think of.

You spelled "bellend" wrong.

Sales of Sony's PS Vita console got off to a "disappointing" start in the UK, it has been confirmed.

Week one Chart-Track figures reveal that Sony's new handheld device sold "around one quarter" of the number of the 185,000 PSP units shifted in the UK during its first week
on sale back in September 2005.

Although exact data has not been publicly announced by either Chart-Track or Sony, industry sources have confirmed that the figure is "just over half" of the 89,000 sold by the Nintendo 3DS in its first week almost a year ago.

With pre-orders of Vita reportedly around the 70,000 mark, Sony will be hoping that the generally positive critical reception to its new device will coax cash-strapped consumers into shelling out for its next generation handheld.

The news comes hours after Sony elected to publish a global figure for Vita sales to date of 1.2 million.

With total Japanese sales confirmed as being 578,812 on February 19th, the remaining 600,000 will have been split between the remaining worldwide territories.

Figures from other Western territories have yet to emerge.

Also the 600k left for the Western launch is from sales estimates and pre-orders according to the Japanese Sony PR.

well it rocked the bloody software charts with a number one regardless!

Meaning those who bought were very hungry for games and lots of games were available.

If i had to call it , based on here, i'd have thought it had done better. Seems far more people went for it than voted that they would to me.

How many vita owners do we have here now? must be 60 at least?

It's a great piece of kit no question. I'm just deciding between one of these or a 3DS.

Since when does "70k-ish pre orders" equals "45k-ish sales"? I am confused by this report.
