While the platform holder has been very coy about Vita sales numbers, estimates put its global install base at about 12 million. Even if that's not accurate, it's clear that a large proportion of the portable's sales have come from its native Japan. It's no surprise, then, that it continues to be well supported in its home nation, with new release Dragon Quest Heroes II shifting a reasonable 120k units on the device this week.

The Vita is the only handheld I haven't sold on and replaced sometime later, still on my launch machine. Actually been playing UC Golden Abyss lately just to finish a hard playthrough I'd started a long time ago.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great bit of kit, but there aren't many worthwhile exclusives. I did have a PSP back in the days that I took the bus to college and loved it.

I'm now spending a lot of time travelling and staying in hotels for work, so maybe there's space for a handheld in my life again.
