It was certainly a game that just kept on going lol. Finished main game 100%, then found out Olimar's side story was actual gameplay. Played through that, unlock the dandori sage 10 story cave thing which was dick hard to plat; some were very satisfying challenges, others were fighting the gooseberry fool lock-on system. Still don't understand why they did that it's so gooseberry fool. And then Louie had some side missions too. So I think that's everything done, nothing really indicated I had completed all side missions so not really sure if I've actually done it all lol.

Overall, a fun little romp, too easy, lock-on's gooseberry fool, dandori is cool, but very disconnected from the main game, as was the case in 3. Probably better that way tho. Most of the side missions equate to just playing the game which is a bit gooseberry fool. "Find all the TV crew members", well I'm just rescuing everyone anyway so it's a moot point. What about kill [boss] with 20 pikmin? No ultra-spicy-spray? Only bomb rocks? Only winged pikmin? There are so many things they could have done to force a bit of challenge and variety in a side mission system but they just didn't.

How difficult is the 10 story cave to get all plats on?

That's all I've got left now, just finished off plats on the story mode dandoori's-none of which ended up being that difficult, just needed a little bit of thought. Which is kinda how I like it :shifty:

Pretty tough. Some took me several tries and even when I finally got it I'd just about scrape by in time. Platting these levels is where the shittiness of the lock-on really comes to light.

Yeah, especially on stage 7 where you have to kill 99 of the bug things in a minute!

I've completed all the stages now, got a couple of plats and then on 8 of the stages a collection of bronzes/silvers....I think I'm happy with that to be honest. Have had my fill!

Tried the demo earlier and enjoyed it, so decided to order myself a copy of the full game as a treat to myself.

You deserve it.

It's a wonderful game. I prefer 3 overall, but 4 is very enjoyable to play through

I don't think it's the worst one but being the worst Pikmin game is nothing to be ashamed of anyway.

In my opinion it's the best pikmin game!

Thanks mate!

I played Pikmin 1 but could not stand the time constraints. I understand that this has been relaxed for the rest of the series, so all of them would rank above the first game despite me having not played them!

I'd be interested if 4 is easier or harder than 3? Anyone know?

I only played 3 (managed to complete it) and have to say I've never found a game so stressful! In the earlier days didn't want to leave any behind.

Don't intend to play 4 because I think 3 is meant to be the easiest (and I struggled with 3). I think 3 is considered easier than 1 or 2 because it doesn't have time constraints (I would have hated time constraints in a game like this). Also struggled a little with the multi tasking to be honest.

It's not for me but hope you enjoy 4 Kaz. More importantly what's happening for the b-day squad? Hope it's a good one

Actually I think the 4 main campaign is pretty easy/chill. No time constraints at all and Oatchi is very OP.

There's some (lots!) post-main game content that ramps the difficulty / stress a bit.

You’re a good egg Barnsy! Nothing much other than a takeaway and a few G&Ts with the wife. I’m old. I deserve this.

I did manage to sneak in a few levels of Super Mario World earlier though - it’s still in my top 5 games of all time. Way more punishing than Wonder (though I ended up loving that too!)

4 is probably the easiest in the series in terms of the main quest.

The sage trials are tricky but everything else is fine.

Agreed, what everyone else said. Platting the dandori is generally the best part of 4. 4 is still good overall regardless. I just feel like 4 has a lot of wasted potential.

Sounds like a nice b day Kaz.

Thanks for replies. Re. Pikmin 4 I might give it a go one day. I liked the little guys and 3 was fun when it wasn't stressful

I think you would genuinely love 4.

There's even an option to auto-complete sections if you can't do them!

Oh you monkey - that's cost me LOL

Pretty sure I wasn't going to get this - but I think you've just swayed it :D

Like I say I love pikmin aesthetic (3 had the vibe of a cosy game but was quite stressful - so I like the idea of pikmin being a little chilled), world, gameplay style - but I didn't use any kind of assist in 3 and limped to the end.

I know Jezo is on the prowl ;) and I generally avoid assist modes - but this is one game I'd have more fun knowing there's auto-complete if I need it.

I think I'll give it a go - cheers :toot:
