Like I say I love pikmin aesthetic (3 had the vibe of a cosy game but was quite stressful - so I like the idea of pikmin being a little chilled), world, gameplay style - but I didn't use any kind of assist in 3 and limped to the end.

I know Jezo is on the prowl ;) and I generally avoid assist modes - but this is one game I'd have more fun knowing there's auto-complete if I need it.

I think I'll give it a go - cheers :toot:

Check out the demo - it's a couple of hours and if you buy the main game you can import your demo progress over!

There's no time limit on the main quest, but the main quest does have a few timed challenges (ie get a certain amount of points in 2 minutes). They're not too bad and inject a bit of tension into a chilled experience, but if you are struggling with these you can just skip them.

Also you can set controller shortcuts which make the game much more playable. Look up a guide for suggested ones but I used "click left stick" to swap between the dude and Oatchi. Ooh and don't sleep on upgrading Oatchi. He's very powerful and key to an easier/chiller time.

Cool that's everything you need to know to have a chill pikmin experience. Have fun!

Rolled credits on this last night (though the post credits content is looking plentiful).

It's pretty good isn't it? It neve pushes back enough to be great - it feels more like something that is just keeping your attention and having you always doing something so you don't get bored, but there are some fun little puzzles and combat encounters in there.

Some of the Pikmin types feel horribly underutilised, I would argue that 3 of the types don't really serve any specific purpose other than in very particular scenarios, but I am only 30 minutes in to post credits stuff.

Thanks. I will not read the spoiler as it has all been fresh to me so far. That is a lot of post credit content! Not sure if I want to stick with it that long without taking a bit of a break (always risky), but I will see how it goes.

I have now discovered the Olimar's Shipwreck Tale section in the post game. Seems like it might be a bit stressful due to the throwback requirements, but I am giving it a go.

I think the thing I hat about time limited challenges is that you don't really get to appreciate anything, its just finding the critical path. The fact that errors / decisions you make early on can impact your completion chances much later on compounds the issue. But I know some people dig it. I suppose it's cool that they cater to both markets in one game.
