Yep... and it's a bit disappointing. I've only played online friendlies due to the reported problems with matches dropping out.
Generally games have been lag-free, but so slow. Players seem to react a second after a button is pressed or a movement is made, making it very difficult to put moves together. There's too much focus by the game engine on player-to-player physicality; player animations are excellent but at the expense of responsiveness. For some reason it also seems tough to strike the ball with any degree of power. There's also a bug where players always try and stop the ball rather than just striking it, making snap-shots virtually impossible.
And yet... there's somehing about it. After a few minutes of running past the ball and missing easy chances, all of a sudden a move can play out as desired and it feels great. The game has a kernal of potential at its heart but there are so many niggles at present. Konami have advised that a software update will release in November and that it will address many of these issues. I hope so; there's no doubting that the full game was released in a poor state, but there is still a chance that the game could eventually shine.
