anyway going back to pro evo, can anyone honestly say that they prefer this to fifa anymore. I really feel it's lost its identity now and i'm not sure what direction it's going in. Fifa has nearly perfected the sim aspect very well and i just wonder if Konami should go down the arcade route again and speed up the play and fluidity.

Aside from the Master League, which i prefer to Fifa's manager mode, you do have to say that Fifa is the better of the two games. I don't think Fifa is perfect by any means though, that does have a lot of flaws as well. I'm not sure why PES went backwards so much this generation. Was it lazyness or did EA and Fifa just step up their game that much?

I think it's a bit of both really. I'm with you Cody in regards to the Master League, I wish EA would give the Fifa one a proper overhaul and flesh it out a bit more.

Tin hat on, but having played this on and off over the last couple of weeks I'm really enjoying it.



Having been a long-time PES fanboy-turned FIFA convert post-PES6 PS2, this seems to hit the sweet spot for me between FIFA's floatyness and the more precise feel of PES of old. Of course presentation wise it lags way behind FIFA (player likenesses are nice though) and I'm sure the online play will be shite, but having been a FIFA player the last few years I've greatly missed Master League and FIFA just doesn't have a single player mode with the same draw.

Long story short, I think I'll go with PES this year.

Also, I wouldn't get my hopes up for this PES demo. I think they did the same thing last year with 2 releases, one with 'tweaks and improvements' which was almost identical to the prior release.

I genuinely don't understand how or why PES fans keep falling for this gooseberry fool. "Oh, but they said it had improvements, maybe this time they'll mean it!". They haven't meant it for the last 5 years.

Got round to playing demo 1 yesterday.

Pretty much everything about the game now just feels so incredibly old. Had no inclination to play beyond one match. It's not even that the gameplay hasn't kept apace with FIFA, I was also finding it very difficult to get past the piss poor & rigid animations & just overall lacking presentation. ISS/Pro Evo has never been able to match FIFA in this department, and back in the PSone/2 days it didn't matter at all, but I think I've been so spoilt in the HD era, stuff that doesn't stack up in that department really stands out.

I've got to be honest, I'm not sure Konami can ever come back with this series.
