Knope is so annoying. She's basically a female Michael Scott but somehow is more annoying. Hell I like Michael Scott but her...? I want to slap her with a dry codfish.

Not enough Ron Swanson during the season. Tom's a strange man - I don't know if I like him or not. Mark is an insufferable banana split.

But as people are saying S1 is the weakest, I shall give S2 a go. I don't think this will become one of my favourite shows anytime soon.

Season One is just pants. I've recommended Parks to a few people and always say go straight to Season Two. You won't miss out and if anything, it'll put you off.

Also, Tom is amazing and becomes one of the main sources of humour. And there's plenty more Swanson.

I'm afraid to say that Parks has not been renewed yet, that story is from the 8th May and no-one is reporting it yet. Should be today hopefully along with The Office.

Seems I'm the only one who didn't mind season 1. Not the best thing in the world but it was good enough for me to want to watch more.

This weeks episode was ok. The last 2 haven't had too many laughs but I've enjoyed them.

I started this and Mad Men last week and i'm up to S2E17 of this already. Whereas i've done five episodes of Man Men in the same time. I don't think it's amazing though, it's just pretty good. From the comedies I watch, it'd be something like 30 Rock, Community, P&R but then still some distance ahead of HIMYM. Yeah... Whatever. It's pretty goodish.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I remember what I was going to say now. Ron Swanson & April.

I'm glad I took the advice of people on here and A) Actually gave it a go, and B) Didn't judge it on the first season alone.

I've watched up until the end of the third season on Netflix and can't wait to see the fourth season. Any idea when it'll be made available?

Started watching this recently and I'm addicted. I even enjoyed the first season. Knope is pretty much a female Michael Scott as mentioned but April, Tom and Ron are so amazing it makes up for it.

Rashida Jones  Aubrey Plaza  etc

That's only really the case in the first season as the writers were still treating it as The Office spinoff it was intended to be.

My progress on this show has slown down. Just watched the first episode of S2. Still a bit meh but I'll keep this on my "to watch list" and watch it when I've done with the other TV shows.

Netflix usually can't put seasons up until they've been released on DVD.

Season 4 should be released on DVD in September.

Half way through series 4 now, it's a brilliant show

Still can't decide if Leslie is hot or not though

Not.

Unless annoying nice-but-dim clingy girls do it for you.

BBC Four has apparently confirmed that it has picked up Parks and Recreation.

The US comedy has aired four seasons on NBC, with a fifth currently in the works.

Channel controller Richard Klein appeared to announce the acquisition in a BBC statement, promising "a year of comedy led by... hit US comedy Parks and Recreation".

However, the relevant sentence was later deleted from Klein's section on the BBC media centre website.

The sitcom stars Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) as Leslie Knope, an optimistic, mid-level bureaucrat who works at the Parks department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana.

Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Rob Lowe also appear in the series, which was co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur (NBC's The Office).

They'll probably give it a terrible timeslot but this is still good news.
