How much is it?
Nothing, it's totally free. Just sign up, print off your barcode and bring it along

What if I can't run 5k?
You can walk, and the best part is, you wont come last as there will be a volunteer tailwalker behind you

Where can I find my nearest parkrun?
There are loads all over the UK and also in other countries

I used to do it most weeks. Haven't for probably at least two years now :( I do miss it.

I love running but I don't love running at 9am on a Saturday morning. If it was like 8pm on a Wednesday I'd be well in.

I always felt a Sunday morning would be far better. I'm far more likely to be tired and hungover on a Saturday morning.

A few of my friends did this before moving away from my area. I'm also often hungover on a Saturday morning but to be honest I'm very tempted to do this. Feels like a good, wholesome community activity that might release me from my terribly unhealthy lifestyle.

I used to do it frequently before moving over to the US. I enjoyed it and it really helped my fitness levels, which haven't been quite the same since moving...!

I've done 49 park runs but most of those were about 3 years ago. These days I'm into long distance and find that a fast 5k messes up my weekend long runs.

A few of my mates do it. Good for them, but personally i cant think of anything worse. Especially at this time of year. Running in the cold. In the morning. In a massive crowd of people. Not for me.

True, but they are dotted around in random areas that are hard to get to. There's one in New Jersey but it takes an age to get to from New York, would require getting up at like 6am, no thanks lol

I've got a few friends who regularly do parkruns and have been tempted to start going along myself but with kids Saturday morning is just not the best time for it and I find running to be much more enjoyable as a solo activity. I don't really enjoy running in large groups.

Was thinking about doing my first parkrun last weekend but saw the weather forecast and thought better of it

We were talking about this at work, and there's an app called 5k parkrunner results which tracks loads of fun badges/states, like running a park run on each day of the year (this year you can get the 29th Feb as it's a Saturday) or running a park run beginning with each letter of the alphabet.

I'm tempted to go out of my way to achieve the 29th Feb goal, simply because the opportunity must be very rare! I don't think the chance will come around again until... 2048?!

It's back MOFO's

I actually travelled as our one wasn't running until this week. A few of us went to Bath Skyline to cross off my 68th parkrun and 22nd tourism.

Got paced and came in at 23:09 and was the 34th runner out of 226.

Missed it badly but was nice being back!
