No one likes to see a missed parkrun! I was at my local and as I'm on the core team I knew it was going ahead. Started in the midpack, we had double the numbers and as I thought I would go easy after a few hundred meters and felt fine I changed my tune and went for it. Only issue was it was packed and it took me 1km to get into stride! Still it was nice to be overtaking people from start to finish and not the other way around and still finish at a respectable time of 22:36 and 35th out of 456 runners.

Managed to run 23:08 on Saturday at Cheltenham, lots of runners and very busy, ideal for a PB if it wasn't for the volume of runners. Didn't push it too much due to giving blood the day before and later would find out I had Covid :(

Was suppose to be going for a PB on Saturday but that isn't happening.

Back at Severn Bridge this morning which was suppose to be a PB attempt. After Covid and the wind this morning I am shocked that I managed 22:21. The wind was raging from the side which meant I had to lean into it and my chest/lungs took a hammering.

Onto the next!

February

10th Cardiff

Fastest time of the year at Melksham this morning, 21:45, was cold and I wasn’t really pushing it. Managed the first km in under 4 minutes.

So much brouhaha about that on social media. Meanwhile in the real world nobody gives a gooseberry fool

Only record holders, you will still see on the results page if you have a PB and your time and everything you are used to. You won't see record holders for age grade anymore and fastest course times. As I won't break any of those records it doesn't bother me.

Welldone. My fastest was at morecambe - flat and no wind.

I did pacing again today to get another volunteer credit. I walked the last 50m but still finished 10s too fast. I let a big bunch of people pass me, but the 4 people that did finish just after me all got PBs.
I know the RD at another locl parkrun - i might try to pursuade him to try pacing events there too. How hard is it to set them up?

Pacing to 24min on a tough, hilly course, muddy and icy in places. I got 24:05 (EDIT 24:04 on official results now) - pretty happy with that as im out of fast practice at the moment and had been getting 26 usually at tht location recently.

Great work thats almost spot on! Not done pacing yet but would like to give it a go.

This weekend I went to Pont y Bala in North Wales. Beautiful course and relatively flat!

Did try and go for a 3rd place but once I knew it was out of the question I eased off a little and came in 7th in 21:07.

Did my first parkrun in 550 days in Saturday at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough.

I'm still taking things easy so I was run walking the way around as per my plan.

Rome was different, was only 14 degrees but it was so humid! mostly a trail path with a lovely view over Rome and St Peters.

Did Longrun Meadow this morning, 80% of the course was underwater and even with yesterday's Half in my legs I still managed a 22 minute parkrun.
