parkrun - Saturday Social Running

My new year's resolution, which I just thought of right there, is to do 20 Parkruns this year, from Victoria Park in Glasgow. I'll post my time in here on 7th, and see how much improvement I can manage over the course of the year. Hoping for a time of around 30-35 minutes to start with!

There was not a double on today so thats a good excuse for me. But i managed to get there despite a spot of rain. Ran through town centre on way there where a few NY clubbers where getting taxis and the club music was still going at 8:45ish. 350 parkruns for me now.

Good luck with the parkruns Cora - If youre not into running youll hate the first 3 or 4 times, especially if the weather is bad. But stick with it, get to know the core parkrun crew - stay around after the run and clap the finishers / volunteer a few times.

I want to have ago at the Holyrood parkrun sometime this year - to get a Scottish parkrun under my belt and see how my Forza Horizon 4 time compares.

Parkrun don't do doubles on NYD anymore.

Went to Barry Island today, first proper run after being ill all over Christmas. 24 minutes not too bad. (It’s a start)
This was my 46th different parkrun.

Still waiting for my results

Are they out on the parkrun website? In the past if ive been omitted ive emailed or facebook messaged them and got them to manually add me to the record.

The parkrun I went to cancelled as we got there with 5 minutes to go so had to make my way to the next nearest one. By the time I found a parking space and got to the start I was 15 minutes after they said go! Luckily I caught the tail Walker in time.

Lots of cancellations today becasue of ice, so the one i did had the overspill of all the other local ones (probably about 7 other surrounding parkruns) with about 400 people - they ran out of finish tokens so were noting down numbers with a pen and paper. I got position 80 with a time of 23:37 which is a pretty good time, but the position shows how many other faster runners from other cancelled parkruns showed up - "normally" id expect top 20 with that time at that parkrun.

I was suppose to be training a new RD last Sat but when I got to the course I was met with black ice so we had to cancel. I did manage to get home, change and get to the nearest available parkrun though so not all bad.

Slowly getting my pace back even though im not 100%. 23:13 this morning which is my best of the year, seem to be knocking off 10-20 seconds a week at the moment!

26 pacing for me today - got 26:03. Im going to beat myself up about those 3 seconds for the next week.

I bet! hate getting close to a sub minute run.

23:18 today visiting Cwbran, slower than last week and really struggled towards the end. Need to up my fitness.

Did my second parkrun today (my first was in Oct 2021 :lol:

hoping to do it more frequently now...)

Came 93rd with a time of 26:17 which I'm happy enough with given how much I'm running at the moment. Course was Beckenham Place Park which has a nice mix of path and fields. Wasn't as cold as I had feared when I first woke up either which was nice!

I did my 360th parkrun today. Im taking it easy on my knee becasue ive got a 10k a week next sunday that im doubting for so did 33min today.

Well done. I got to 50 then lost motivation to travel and just stayed in the 4 or 5 30min driving distance parkruns closest.

Didn't go as it was raining quite a bit this morning... such a fair weather runner :fp:

(it isn't so much the run in the rain that put me off, but the getting there/back in the rain)
