Why? was that ever a thing in the Japanese version?

Honestly this game has a bit of a special place to me. Not from the original run, but when I was diagnosed with depression back during Covid this game was one of the few things that could genuinely distract me and make me smile. I'll always love it for that and will happily pick this up to play it once again and remove that genuine joy.

Three words. About strawberry floating time. Or 4 with the swear filter.

Day one.

It's a great game, one of the best of all time, but IMO it's going to have to add quite a lot over the GameCube version, which hasn't aged badly at all, to be worth buying over just emulating.

Loved this on the GC. Don't know why but Jolene's twitching glasses seems to stick in the memory.

They added this Toad. I think this should be enough, just look at him!

I actually managed to play the GC original via emulation, with an onscreen keyboard and an autohotkey script (self coded, badly) for some of the more physically demanding inputs (the 'wind up' hammer strike in particular) .

Got up to the train bit before encountering a glitch that prevented me getting any further.

One thing I really hope they sort is late game levelling, only really viable way in the original was to farm golden Amazy Dayzee in the woods in chapter 4, unless you just had loads of time to kill and didn't mind beating Rawk Hawk into a pulp each time for about 5 exp or something daft

Hopefully this does well and they see this is the Paper Mario we want, none of this Sticker Star or Colour Splash bullshit

The main benefit of this is going to be availability, both hardware-wise and price-wise, rather than any additions. See also Ghost Trick, Baten Kaitos.

I've still got my copy, a GC controller and a Wii to play it on. It was one of the few games I couldn't bear to part with when I sold my collection.

Trouble is, I'll have to go ROUND THE BACK OF THE TV to sort the Wii out. :dread:

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.
