I don't think anyone has to believe that this was an all-time great protest action. I don't! I think XR and its related groups can be quite silly a lot of the time!
But objectively speaking, this was an incredibly mild protest. They didn't hurt anyone or damage anything. So it's very frustrating to see people saying "I can't condone this, they're going too far!" - it's like, if this is too far, then what would you think about the kind of protests we actually need? The kind of mass protests that could put actual pressure on politicians or oil company CEOs would be far more disruptive.
