Outrageous decision and logic. Literally every argument has a counter, but the accusations about the team adding value is galling when we have strawberry floating Visa Cash App RB as an entrant.

Mental decision. Saying Andretti would use F1 to get exposure. Yet allow a dumpster fire like Haas to do just that. And don't get me started on Red Bull having two teams.

And yet they had no problem letting the terrible Konnersport onto the grid.

This will be the nail in the coffin for any other team wanting to bother entering F1 if this is how Andretti has been treated and rejected it will put others from wanting to enter F1. F1 is getting ripped to shreds all over social media about this and on the Autosport forum :slol:

But will make them invest in sportscars instead be welcomed to join and have a chance to win

I have a strong feeling that for one reason or another this is going to be the season I check out of following F1 entirely.

F1 won't care, the majority of the current F1 teams won't care behind closed doors either. It will put off other new teams though, unless they can just buy a current team.

The constant street track additions will probably be what reduces my viewing of the sport, I'll just watch more on the tracks I actually like rather than obsessively watching as much as I physically can. I think it'd tale something like selling up to Aramco for me to fully stop watching it.

I’m surprised Andretti have been turned down, I thought F1 would jump at the chance thinking it would help them grown in the US.

Just think when Alpine or Honda decide to pull out from F1 in the future, which they will the grid will be smaller and no one will have bothered to attempted to join F1 or no new engine suppliers. F1 is not a closed shop like it is now, F1 is not all about the manufacturers it needs privateer teams like Stewart, Minardi, Arrows, Ligiers, to fill the grids. To now be excluding teams that would previously have been able to enter no problem is just so stupidly backwards and hypocritical. Not to mention that in basically saying that unless you're a full works entry that build your own engines, you're not welcome here, sets an enormously dangerous precedent going forward

This sort of thing has happened before too, after the crash of 2008/09, the grid for 2010 could potentially have been decimated.

Over that winter, Toyota had quit, Sauber almost collapsed after BMW pulled out, Renault was in meltdown following crashgate and could have imploded completely, and Brawn could easily have closed down had Merc not come in to buy the team.

Also, had the three new teams for that year been barred from joining, you could have ended up with a 12 car grid.

Such a bullshit decision. Go back not too far and there was talk of padding out the grid by forcing all teams to run 3 cars.

I see the Hamilton to Ferrari rumours are back

It must be true, my uncle at maranello said so (although plans can change).

Lewis going to Ferrari would be him accepting he's never officially going to get an 8th championship and just wants to cross "be a Ferrari driver" off his bucket list before he retires.

I'd laugh if he got close to an 8th WDC at Ferrari only for their typical bad strategy or pit crew forgetting to attach a tyre to cost him. If there is any truth to it I hope Sainz lands a decent drive as he's been great these past few years.
