Seems a decent idea so far, cue dummies out of the pram from the press.

That's certainly what I was hoping he'd suggest. Just up to the government to do the right thing and for the public to not be duped by the tabloids being up in arms tomorrow morning

There's no way a new board won't be stuffed with media cronies, so I stand by my initial opinion.

Seems about right about politicians and the press. It's reached the point where parties don't need spin doctors because the sections of the press who support them will do it for them.

EDIT: Max Mosley approves, Leveson's clearly strawberry floated up

Leveson's proposals on regulation seem reasonable. The ban on off the record briefings, though, is clearly ludicrous.

Earlier in the week we had Mirror staff being arrested (which will hopefully eventually lead to Piers Moron being arrested and charged) and now this...

Gets even better:

Prosecutor Andrew Edis QC told the Old Bailey that in February 2004, when the pair were both working at the media giant, they had already been having a relationship for some years. Brooks was with partner Ross Kemp at the time, having married in 2002 and, in a development that was not widely reported, later divorced in 2006.

The court heard the pair had been having an affair dating as far back as 1998, despite being with then fiancé Ross Kemp.

Wow, fancy living a complete lie for that many years.

At least we perhaps now understand what that little spot bother between Brooks (Wade) and Kemp was all about, then... :shifty:
