So far so samey.
It has the usual whizz-bang action scenes, with the camera whizzing around and never staying still, or steady, for more than a moment.
But yeah, it was ok. It's not any different to the previous seasons in feel, so I don't see this changing anyones opinions of Discovery.
If you don't like Discovery this probably isn't going to be up your alley either.
Some episode spoilers for those waiting till next year.
So yeah, I'm going to keep watching. It's fine. Nothing more, nothing less.
I've always been a bit ambivalent to the show. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either, despite it's numerous problems.
I think one of the things that never quite sits right with me for Discovery is that they don't feel like a starfleet crew at all. All the other shows tend to show the crew as colleagues first, some of whom become friends and more over the course of the show. Discovery's crew just feels like "pals in space", like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her mates had a starship. Put any of these characters on any other Trek crew and they'd stand out like a sore thumb.
Can you imagine Picard putting up with Tillys gooseberry fool?
