In what world is no voice chat a good idea for an online team shooter? I'm very sceptical about this now and it's gone from a pre-order to me seeing how it fares for the first couple of weeks.

If you want to talk to people, go outside.

It might be a mistranslation, but no communication is far worse than just no voice communication. At least being able to use the D-pad to mark / ping areas of the map would allow for a basic level of teamwork.

See, this is what I'm hoping for. They simply can't have people randomly firing paint without team work at play.

That's a good point. People on Gaf seem to think that 'with players you are matched with' means that if you start a game with teammates from your friends list, you'll be able to communicate with them. This is more of an incorrect interpretation of the translation than a mistranslation but it's still worth considering.

If it's a misunderstanding they need to rectify that quickly as without communication of any sort as the list implies then a team based game is pretty much pointless as coordination will be next to impossible.
If they let you have team comms with friends then I'm in but if not then I'm not sure I see the point.

Potentially being delayed in Euroland :x :x :x :x :x :x

On Amazon's product page they list a June 26th release date though.

Amazon.it had Zelda and X down to be released in June until about a week ago. I'll take that with more salt than chalky during Mario Kart.

It would make sense though what with Steam and Kirby coming out in May.

Its Nintendo...why on earth do you think whatever they do would 'make sense'.

I'm going off Toad being delayed here so we know it's possible.

I'm not saying they won't delay the game, just that if it does happen it won't be for any sane reason.

Toad's delay made no sense, especially as it ended up being shipped before Christmas by some retailers. Like H said, if this gets delayed, it won't be for a sensible reason. I kind of hope that it does get pushed away from May so that the Mario Kart DLC doesn't eat up some of the community.

I don't mind if it's turned off by default and I have to jump through some hoops to get it working but to just completely leave it out of a game that's looks like it could need teamwork is just stupid.

So it's a team game where you can't give orders to the team and can't talk to them either.
That's going to make for some really well organised teams :fp: .

It would be like saying all footballers must play without talking or making any gestures just in case they accidentally swear or make a rude gesture.

Don't get me wrong I love the look of the game but no comms is just baffling.

Looks like we'll be on our PS4s chatting while we play the WiiU. Me and Herbi used to do it during Mario Kart 8 in order to shittalk about Spindash.

I just hope the single player campaign is long enough. I'm not big on Multiplayer.
