Since the topic hasn't been made yet and I've recently finished watching COSMOS I thought I'd make it. Hopefully this topic gets the attention it deserves (before a massive bump in 2013 just before the first episode airs).

I'm going to download this, just for Sagan's voice. Please don't give those awful strawberry floating songs attention they don't deserve. They're monstrosities.

I recently watched Cosmos after Prof Cox recommended it on Wonders of the Universe.

I'm really glad I did. It's stellar stuff.

Neil Degrasse Tyson is awesome. Really looking forward to this.

Under any other circumstances I'd be incredibly dubious about anyone trying to take on Sagan's mantle here. But I saw Tyson on Real Time a while back, and pretty much instantly loved the guy. I'm pretty optimistic about this.

Just to add further kudos, this is being co-produced by Sagan's widow, Ann Druyan, who was one of the writers on the original Cosmos.

This thread gave me an idea as to what to get someone as a thank you gift.

Holy gooseberry fool I forgot about him. He's already done his share of good science shows, though. Has Tyson ever done any documentaries?
Cox and Tyson should totally do something together, I don't care if it's a Cosmos remake. I'd watch them have gay sex tbh, as long as they described it as they go.

There's something about Brian Cox's face and voice that makes me not enjoy watching his series. I can't explain it. /O'Reilly

I like that since making this topic, the series has been confirmed for airing in 2012 and not 2013.
