Sounds like Cecil B. DeMented.

YOU ARE CORRECT! Thank you.

freeda wrote:Hey, I'm trying to remember the name of some film I saw forever ago. It was kind of like "Walking Tall" if you've ever seen that movie. Some guy returns to his old town to find the woman he loved in the past engaged to some Mr perfect type guy who was rich and powerful. Later it is revealed though that the guy is not perfect but actually a a mob boss running the town. If I recall, the hero teams up with some black guy to fight the criminal. Any idea what the film was called?

It sounds very different but could it be Domestic Disturbance (the logic being that Vince Vaughn looks a little like Ben Affleck)?

Nope wrong film.

Right, what's the movie where Ethan Hawk rescues a woman in the end of the film from some bad guys (or single bad guy) then dies in his sleep due to having some kind of heart condition?

It's a comedy set in space. There is a fight over water? And near the end there is a battle where time slows down and the crew are fighting robots and the guys son who was a baby only minutes before is now a man due to the pace of time and helps come kill the robots. I loved it, but can't remember what it's called

Nah, this movie was based in the 90's or something. I think it was Ethan hawk and I think he was meant to be a bit slow in the movie. I just remember he dies in his sleep or something.

The bit about the and the child/adult son sounds a bit like Lost in Space.

Nah the film was made in the 80's by the looks of it. In the battle the black guy gets like a massive afro. There's also a bit where they go to a planet and there is a guy that is just a head there and for some reason he has a small army of these hot women

Bump!

Could this be The Great Ecstasy of Robert Carmichael?

Nope, this film was about 2 teens and they were doing it because they were the only survivors to a bus accident where all their classmates had died.

I have it on VHS somewhere, recorded off the TV, but there's an animation from 1980 called Scruffy which I loved as a child, which seems to be pretty damn hard to find. Google tells me it was an "ABC Weekend Special".

Image

Scruffy is the story of a puppy who's orphaned. As she attempts to find a new home, she's constantly struck by tragedy.

This tear-jerker animated film originally aired on "The ABC Weekend Special," and was later released on VHS. In addition to other familiar names in the animation world lending their vocal talents, young Nancy McKeon voiced a character.

Anybody remember it?
