The harder they fall is well worth a watch though primarily for Lakeith Stansfield. Majors is very good in it.

I sort of agree that the Timely character is played with an affectation that tends towards distracting. Not to anywhere near Johnny Depp levels of unwatchability or anything like that, though.
Otherwise, I've always found Majors to be a pretty solid actor.

Just had one of the occasional Disney+ surveys come through. They wanted me to rate each individual character and actor from Loki season 2 and score how much I was looking forward to the upcoming D+ shows.

Jonathan Majors didn't come out of the survey well.

Just out of the Marvels as I had a couple of hours to kill, that was really poor.

As someone who doesn't follow the Marvel universe, I felt cut off from the film; I was clearly meant to know the green guys and the relationships between characters etc. Since I didn't, half the screens with significant dialogue had zero emotional resonance, and the other half was standard generic plot padding.

Never had this problem after e.g. skipping the first captain America and watching the winter soldier. Marvel are strawberry floated if this is how they progress from here.

Just finished Loki S2, have enjoyed it overall. Bit confused about the whole press about the last episode irreversibly setting Majors/Kang up as the big bad for everything future in the MCU? Did I miss something?

Yeah, I've been thinking about this too. There's actually no reason they couldn't just bin Kang off right now.

Loki has replaced He Who Remains in charge of the timeline and the TVA are now going after Kang's variants. There's no reason they couldn't just leave this plot line here as there's nothing to say Loki taking charge and his TVA prevent Kang coming and the war etc

I know they've foreshadowed Kang coming as the big bad quite a bit but ignoring that isn't exactly the end of the world. They're at a pretty convenient time to pivot away to something else.

Comic book movies make it ridiculously easy to bin off a character in just a couple of lines.

"Are we fighting Kang?"

"No, Loki destroyed all of his variants, it's all over"

To cross post my thoughts from the Last TV Series you watched and your rating thread on Loki S2

8/10- Characters 10/10 Plot 6/10- I think a show where they just travelled round time and get up to hijinks would have been better. The plot overcomplicates itself and comes up with more and more McGuffins to render it pretty incomprehensible. I did like the period setting of episode 3(?) where they go back to 1800's Chicago and most of the last episode was fun/clever but ended in a bit of a mess.

Agreed.

Wonder what this means for Kang though as he was meant to be the big bad villain going forwards?

If they wanted to keep a similar looking actor then John Boyega could potentially be cast, he looks a bit like a younger Jonathan Majors if you squint....

They could cast anybody and just say "this is a Kang variant". After all, we've seen a female Loki, a Richard E Grant Loki and even a crocodile Loki!

Yeah, there's really no justifiable reason to keep him.

Yup, just recast him and there's no problems at all. That's why multiversal stuff is great and why we can get a new Iron Man :capnscotty:

Yeah, a Kang variant i think will be the best way forward as there's already been too much groundwork laid for them to suddently switch to a different big bad.

Remember also, there were a couple of different versions of Thanos before Josh Brolin was cast.

Hopefully they get rid of him and this sets a standard for Disney to not work with abusers. Will hopefully stop Fassbender coming back for Deadpool 3 too.

What's Fassbender supposed to have done? I've not heard anything about him.

Wasn't there like one Thanos before Brolin was cast and it was in one short post credit scene where he didn't even speak? Not really the same thing.

I actually think after Loki S2 they're in a position where they could pivot away from Kang if they really wanted to.
